Where We Started

It all began when we created the first portable, gas-powered lantern that illuminated the first evening football game west of the Mississippi. In WWII, our camping stoves transformed the way soldiers ate in the field. We continued to revolutionize the outdoors with our cooler manufacturing in the 1950s, and in the decades that followed we added tents, sleeping bags, lighting, and more.

    Middle schooler used this on a school overnight to keep food cold for the entire trip. Used ice packs (see my reviews for what was used) and kept everything cold for about 36 hours.
    Kept water, veggies, sandwich, even cream cheese, cold. The size was right.
    Was concerned it would be too big but smaller size wouldn't have held the food and enough ice packs. Would have been too crowded. This allowed for extra ice packs, but not too big or bulky for a middle schooler to carry along with his suitcase.
    It's the right size to take in the car for road trips that I definitely will do in the future. Even if just out for the day in the summer, can leave water or snacks in the car in the sun without it being hot or melted when you return a couple hours later.
    Easy to open and close, nice color.

    Size is right for day trip or overnight for one or two people

    Very sturdy - should hold up well

    CONS:
    Hard-sided, which means if trying to squeeze it in a car packed for a day trip, will need to plan for where it can go and get access to easily

    This thing really holds up! Decided to get a new smaller sized cooler for going canoeing on the river. If you really jam pack it, I'd say you can fit 8 drinks (I drink bottles) or so with ice. So modest size for you or someone else.

    In terms of how it does out side, pretty darn great! As we were canoeing, it started to thunderstorm and the river became flooded and the canoe filling with water at a fast pace. So we raced through these raging waters until we could finally sit under a bridge for hours to wait for further safe travel to our destination point. Then finally we throw it to the side and empty everyone's kayaks and canoes, and ride the rest of the way. That thing stayed tight as some skinny jeans letting no filth or rain water in, and it kept everything cool the entire time! Great performance, the handle is nice, easy to open and drain. The lid makes a nice canoe table top As well!
