The tripod's legs are shock-corded together (for a maximum height of 62 inches), collapse for easy storage, and can support up to 30 pounds.     Easy to put together and assemble, however, this tripod is very unsturdy. It’s flimsy and it very easily falls over. I would not recommend purchasing this model. We’ve had many incidents while trying to cook food over a hot flame that it’s collapsed and food has fallen, almost burning us.

    Perfect! And assembly is snap - a four year old could do it! The tripod and grill are quite lightweight and compact, just what you need for a camping accessory! The grill, which is suspended from the mid-point of the tripod, can be raised or lowered with one hand to regulate temperature. Another nice thing about this is you can cook right on the grill or use the grill surface to hold a pot or pan. We also tried using it to hang a lantern - which was very effective. This is a clever product, inexpensive, lightweight and disassembles to be compact.

    I've used this on numerous trips and its works fantastically. You can set it up over the ringed fire pits that you get at many sites, or put it on top of the rocks of the U shaped pits you find on other sites, or pretty much anywhere. The general idea is that you move the grill up or down depending on the size of the flame. This is particularly handy when you’ve got the perfect coals to cook over and someone annoying throws more logs on the fire when you went to grab another beer.

    Another hint is that when the fire gets too hot to adjust the grill chain with your hand, you can use a spatula and tongs together to adjust the chain height at a distance. Also if the fire is uneven you can spin the grill like a glass plate at the bottom a microwave so the fire doesn't burn the food on one side of the grill.

    One downside of the grill is that if the fire gets to hot, the elastic holding the legs together will melt. Easy to fix though, just bring along some elastic paracord and knot one end and feed it through.

    I bought one of these for myself after having used a similar one on a camping trip that someone else brought along. It's easy to setup and much nicer than trying to find rocks to support a regular grill or deal with campground fire rings. For cooking over a fire source, the greatest advantage is being able to simply raise or lower the cooking grate for desired amount of heat. Because the grill is hanging you should add a something to use as a 'grabber' to your cooking kit to hold steady the grill while working with food over the fire.

    My one disappointment upon receiving this particular model was that the shock cords that keep the segments of each tripod leg together once assembled are just nylon cord. The one I used previously utilized a small spring-loaded chain through the legs for tension. And because the legs will be exposed to high heat, the nylon shock cord failure is eminent. This doesn't affect the main function of the grill itself, but it IS very nice to be able to simply pickup the whole tripod setup and move it without having any leg segments fall apart if one of the nylon cords has failed. Again, more of a potential nuisance than impact on function, but still very much had expected to get the metal chain leg tension that would be much more robust for a campfire / cooking situation.

    The Grill is very easy to adjust which allows you to either cook with high heat or just holding food warm. It is very stable - I even used pans and pots directly on the grill. Adjustable within seconds. No matter what kind of food you wanna cook - the tri-pod grill will make it easy! Also it is very easy to get set-up. No instructions needed (Although it comes with instructions). The adjusting line is very long, so you can go very deep and very high. That makes it easy to get the optimum temperature for your cooking!

    Tri-Pod by itself can also be used as Lamp-Stand, Fishing-Pole Holder or whatever you can think of ;)

    The only thing I didn't like: It comes without a case. We kept the original box to put it back in, would be cool to have a tri-pod case or something though. Would still highly recommend it and buy it again.
