Purchase options and add-ons
This frank, frisky, user-friendly guide also delves into the controversy over female ejaculation and explores why so few women have discovered their potential to experience multiple orgasms. It also reports on why so many women of all ages fake orgasms, and it settles the controversy over the G-Spot once and for all. Can’t find your G-Spot? Hey, you’ve got something better! Here are vivid personal accounts, a savvy, in-depth survey of female sexuality resources, and the bold and explicit illustrations of San Francisco artist Fish. The Clitoral Truth surveys the numerous ways that women have begun to transform the deeply entrenched male-centered model of sexuality to actively redefine it by emphasizing full-body pleasure. And, likely, better orgasms!

Selected Content
From the Introduction
'While the larger part of sexuality is certainly psychological, The Clitoral Truth focuses on the physical aspects of pleasure. The text and illustrations are designed to give women and their partners information, tools, resources, and ideas about how to understand and expand their sexual interests and potential'. (p.13).
From Chapter 1
'We've looked at sex through the phallocentric lens for so long that we don't even have a vocabulary to describe our genital anatomy and articulate sexual experiences'. (p.18).
From Chapter 5
'Men in most world cultures today are born with what sociologists term "sexual agency," the ability to identify their sexual interests and act on them in (ideally) socially appropriate ways...' (p.135).
More from Chapter 5
'Women can achieve equity in wages, shared childcare and housework, sports, the arts, all human endeavors, but unless we achieve equity in sex and sexual relations, there will not be true equality'. (p.171).

Review
"In this handy book, Chalker ... writes about the rarely discussed subject of female ejaculation, and revels in the many splendors of multiple orgasms."—Time Out New York
“As a writer who covers sexuality and women's health, I've read a lot about female sexual anatomy. So, when I opened up Rebecca Chalker's The Clitoral Truth, 2nd Edition, I was expecting to read a lot of things I'd heard before: that the clitoris is central to most female orgasms, that the vagina expands during sex, etc. And I did read those things—but I also read a lot more that not even I'd heard before.”—Suzzanah Weiss,Bustle
"Rebecca Chalker has written a serious, lively, informative, and let's hope liberating opus on the organ of female sexual pleasure."—Alix Kates Shulman, author ofMemoirs of an Ex-Prom Queen

5.0 out of 5 stars Kids curiosity will be satiated, adults will become more comfortable in their sexuality. A must read
Verified PurchaseRead this for a human sexuality course in a grad school psychology program. Should be a must read for all adolescents. Informative and powerful. Lets get rid of the stigma about our bodies and sexuality. Grown men should read this too. Everyone wants to be a good lover and this will help both sexes.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not A Practical Book But A Very Informative One
Verified PurchaseI first heard of this book from reading a book called 'She Comes First', by Ian Kerner and thought this would be good read for a lady friend of mine. I thought it was going to show sexual techniques for women as well as being informative but most of the practical guidance was experiences of the author being coached by others without showing what coaching she was given.
The only practical advice that I could see of interest for women was female pre-masturbation techniques, but any other practical advice would probably be known already.
All-in-all this book did go into a lot more depth of the informative side than 'She Comes First' most of which most women I would think would not know about.
I am still going to give this book to my lady friend though

1.0 out of 5 stars Very elementary
Verified PurchaseAfter reading a few books on the anatomy of the clitoris, I must say this one is by far the most disappointing one. What I mean by that is that it felt like I was reading the study notes of a school kid. A bunch of terms thrown around with no real concept development. Words and definitions. The illustrations are good but there are useless pictures through out the book. I feel like the author tried too hard to be “cool”. To be honest, I’m reading it through but within the first three chapters, I really don’t care to continue. And the sizes of the book is annoying to hold. As a male trying to navigate through this area of life, I would not recommend this book for a first timer. There are better ones.
