I mainly use Windows (for gaming) and Linux for my computer needs. I have also used a few Android tablets but never properly used a Chrombook. At first I wasn't sure if I would like the format of this PC/tablet but tuns out I really like the flexibility. I recently took it on a trip with me and it ended up being my go to computer instead of reaching out for my laptop while away. Also not sure if this is a PSA or just a me thing but I could not for the life of me find the stylus, I ripped apart the box, looked on the product page, and went through the instructions and could not find it. I was starting to think it was an error and it was forgotten until I finally noticed the little notch to pop it out from the corner of the tablet.
The tablet itself is a bit thicker than an average tablet, also the bezels are quite large. I thought the large bezels would bother me but honestly I don't even notice it when using it. It has a magnetic cover on the back which folds out to act as a stand, I really like this design. The keyboard is magnetic and works great. When the keyboard is on, the Chromebook acts more like a PC with a bottom bar, a button to show all applications, and even Chrome shows the tabs up top like on my PC. This is also true if using a separate mouse even without the keyboard. The keyboard also has a magnet to act as a screen cover when not in use, it also tells the device to go to sleep when it is shut. Popping off the keyboard is easy to do but does not easily come off on its own so it wont accidentally get detached. When the keyboard is detached, it acts more like an Android tablet which is very useful. I also love the Stylus, it has become my new favourite way of browsing the web and clicking on things. The screen is clear and the colours look good, the touchscreen is responsive and works well, the speakers are good enough for watching content, and the battery life is great.
This Chromebook makes for a nice alternative to using my larger laptop for more general things like web browsing and checking emails. It also lets your run Linux distros for development or tinkering purposes which is neat. Keep in mind it is an ARM processor. Overall I am super happy with this device, it is easy to use, powerful enough for basic computer needs, has a flexible form factor, and great battery life.
