    I bought these to replace worn 8-inch wheels on my Honda HRT216TDA and gain an extra half inch of mowing height. The wheels are high quality but not a direct swap—the internal gear is too big, positioned incorrectly, and the adjuster arms rub. This wasn’t a flaw; I knowingly chose them for the extra height.
    To make them fit, I removed the new gears, installed the originals, and secured them with JB Weld epoxy. Washers helped reposition the wheels, and I trimmed the adjuster arms for clearance. The mower now cuts at 4 1/2 inches instead of 4, avoiding scalping in low spots.
    For 9-inch replacements, these are excellent. For upgrading 8-inch wheels, expect a time-consuming modification process requiring patience and tools.
