This is a great tool to have when you want to check if your brake fluid needs to be changed. The probe is simple to use and has two buttons: one for changing the setting between Dot 3, 4 and 5 and the other to power on and off. Once you’ve turned on the tool and selected your fluid type, dip the two metal probes into the brake fluid and it will display a %. Between 0-2% the backlight is green, which indicates the fluid is still good. At 2-3% the back light is yellow, that notes to change your fluid and any value greater than 3% shows red, meaning fluid change is ove due. This tool will pay for itself if you know the quality of your brake fluid before going to your mechanic for an expensive service.
this tester requires batteries, it does not come with batteries, so it is not ready to use which was very frustrating especially since there are other cheaper version here, on amazon.
