The 32CH RGBW DMX512 decoder converts a DMX512/1990 digital signal into PWM (Pulse Width Modulated) signals, controlled by a DMX512 console, DMX512 signal 8 bit, 16 bit optional. Featuring unique firmware, the decoder produces smooth and perfect fades.

    Bought two of them and once hooked up, everything worked¡­ but 3 outputs. Pulled their green connector and transferred the wires to other inputs- worked absolutely flawlessly. Not sure what I¡¯ll do now¡­ I need another, but don¡¯t want to run the risk that it may not work too¡­.

    I have experience with many different Dmx decoders and this one was disappointing.
    1- it seems to operate like a slow frame rate, if I program an intensity fade over a second it¡¯s like you can see it jump up in ? of a second bursts rather then a smooth fade. I was using it in 8 bit mode and 16 in theory might help but I¡¯ve used other 8 bit units that fade ways better.
    2 it¡¯s slow if I trigger this unit to snap it¡¯s led¡¯s on at the same time as other strips on other decoders this one will come on delayed.
    3 inconsistency, I bought two and one units delay is worse then the other one.
    On the positive side I have seen no on camera flicker even when shooting in high frame rates.
    I would only use this unit for applications were it¡¯s not being asked to change quickly. For ambience not for a club or concert lighting.

    The dimming isn¡¯t smooth, there doesn¡¯t seem to be 256 steps to the dimming chip (8bit) more like 20-30, so the 0 to 100% isn¡¯t a smooth fading.very annoying. And one of them was having trouble listening to dmx, and was flicking sometimes. Tried reducing the speed of the dmx, 40, 33, 25, nothing changed. So well¡­ over all crappy.
