I was prepared to send these back as I thought they weren’t working when placing a teaspoon of tiny beads in the vase with water and left for over six hours. To the naked eye, it appeared nothing was happening..however the water did appear to look “thick“ so I thought they had all “gelled” together. (SILLY ME) To my surprise after immersing my hand in the water I felt it was completely full of these little beads. Therefore I emptied a portion of the water, which gave the illusion of beads on top of water line, (see pictures) - after emptying all water you can see just how many are actually there. As these are going to be used within wedding centerpieces, I wanted to also test how long or what happens if a candle is on top & the picture displayed is over five days now and they all still feel like little moist fish eggs!! AND THEY BOUNCE LOL —super cool for creative minds

    I used the product in few different glass jars. In one I placed decorative color plastic and sequence beads and a small bouquet of fresh flowers, after a week the water turned brown and very smelly, I removed the flowers and rinsed the gel water beads in feah water with some dawn soap, soaked them in water and baking soda and re washed them again but the smell didn't go away. The beads kept having the rotten smell. I ended up throwing them out as it was making my room smell really bad. The other two jars with floating candles are still fine and no smell. I am not sure maybe I shouldn't have used the beads to hold fresh cut flowers. Overall they are pretty cool to use but once they start smelling there is no saving them, at least it wasn't for me. I am submitting a picture with the plastic floating gold fish with tea light on top that the water stayed clear with no bad smell.
