Castle Kitchen Mix is Not Just for Hot Chocolate!

Frozen Hot Chocolate Cheesecake

Crust

  1. Combine 2 cups chocolate graham cracker crumbs, 1/4 cup coconut sugar, 1/4 cup coconut oil.
  2. Set aside 3 tbsp for cake topping.
  3. Press remaining into a spring form pant up to the edges.

Filling

  1. Beat 2 blocks of softened cream cheese (or vegan substitute).
  2. Add 1/2 cup each of icing sugar and Castle Kitchen Double Dutch Dark Chocolate Mix and mix until smooth.
  3. Add 1 cup each almond milk and coconut cream slowly until smooth. Fold in 1 cup of marshmallows. Pour onto crust and freeze for 4 hours.
  4. Finish with 3 tbsp topping and chocolate sauce!

Gluten Free Hot Cocoa Overnight Oats

  1. In a mason jar, mix 1 tbsp Castle Kitchen Double Dutch Dark Hot Chocolate Mix, 1 cup gluten free flour oats, 1 cup almond milk, 2 tbsp peanut butter, 2 tsp chia seeds, and desired amount of chocolate chips.
  2. Stir to fully combine all ingredients.
  3. Put in refrigerator and leave overnight.
  4. Enjoy a quick and delicious breakfast the next day with fruit or more chocolate chips!

Summertime Frozen Hot Chocolate

  1. Place 3 cups of ice cubes, 2 cups almond milk and 1/4 cup Castle Kitchen Double Dutch Dark Hot Chocolate into a blender.
  2. Blend until smooth and well combined.
  3. Pour into your favorite glass and top with whipped coconut cream or your favorite whipped topping.

Dark Chocolate Protein Balls

  1. Combine 3 scoops of Vanilla Protein Power, 1 1/2 cups of almond meal, 1/2 cup almond butter, 1/3 cup of maple syrup, 1/4 cup each of unsweetened shredded coconut, mini chocolate chips, and Castle Kitchen Double Dutch Dark Hot Chocolate.
  2. Mix well in a mixing boll.
  3. Roll mixture into 1" balls.
  4. Store in an air tight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.

Delicious flavor no need to add sugar with the sweetener added. If you want a perfect cup add the powder BEFORE your water and stir it with a small amount of hot water so it won't be chunky

    I am really impressed with this and delighted to learn that it's Made in Canada!

    I was looking for a low-calorie hot chocolate that was an alternative to Nestle and I found this. I mixed it with skim milk and it tasted delicious. I haven't tried milk substitutes, but the package says it can be used with those, as well. It's vegan, plant-based and sugar free.

    I have made it twice for myself and once for a friend and she loved it. It didn't taste cloying like other stevia products, and it retails for a little bit more than the nestle brand, but you get more volume and it's by a Canadian company. I love it!

    A rich dark chocolate flavor and satisfactory replacement for traditional hot chocolate.

    Some people who aren't used to dark chocolate to begin with, and are expecting something closer to milk chocolate, might be a bit disappointment by it's bitterness. To them, I suggest adding a bit of your preferred sweetener to it.

    I, personally, enjoy dark chocolate. I knew that's the flavor this mix was trying to emulate, (which makes sense because it's less sweet and easier to recreate with artificial sweetener) and I think they did a good job.

    My only real complaints are:

    1. This is a minor complaint but it is a VERY light powder and clumps easily. So you have to do fair bit of stirring. I might invest in a tiny whisk. Or I might make it in one of those protein shake bottles with the mixer ball. In any case, this will definitely not stop me from buying it again.

    2. It's a little pricey compared to a jar of Carnation hot chocolate mix, but the price difference isn't nearly as bad as some other sugar free product's I've encountered online. So I should be thankful it's still reasonably affordable.

    I have been looking for a healthier hot chocolate option, one that is flavourful and not sweetened with an artificial sweetener. When I came across this item I was a little sceptical because of the negative comments about the stevia used in this product to provide its sweetness so I initially ordered only one can. The Dutch process renders the cocoa a lower fat content, definitely a positive quality. When I opened the canister I was pleasantly surprised to see that the powder was a deep, dark chocolate and not the traditional milky chocolate used in most hot chocolate mixes. Mixing the powder into a hot liquid (water, milk or coffee) was easy. I found it dissolved well. Trying it for the first time I found it to have an aromatic dark chocolate flavour, definitely richer than its milk chocolate counterpart. It was wonderful. As others have commented, I could detect the stevia sweetener but with continued use I have become adapted to it. It helps knowing that stevia is a natural extract used for a very long time to replace sugar and artificial sweeteners. It does take some getting used to. I love this tasty rich dark hot chocolate and have already order more.

    Love this! It has a deep rich flavor that's not too sweet. I put a tablespoon into my cup and added about two ounces of almond milk in and stirred. Got it into a thick syrup. Then I added an additional 13 or so ounces of almond milk. Nuked until hot and stirred. Result was a rich, wonderful treat. I'm lactose intolerant so I so appreciate that this is dairy free! But when you sip, it's the rich taste of chocolate that shines through, not the sugar. Not gonna lie, there is a very faint aftertaste, I'm guessing it's the stevia, but I drink diet Coke so I'm used to that. Love this mix!
