    I first tried the sugared version and it was very good. Not wanting that much sugar in my diet I ordered the sugar free version. It was enjoyable enough but there was a bitter aftertaste I cannot pinpoint. I use stevia daily in my tea and have never tasted that type of bitterness so it must be the acacia as a google search said it is bitter. The bitterness stayed in my mouth and throat for hours despite all my efforts to wash it out. Not a nice experience. Not one I will try again. I will cancel my subscription.

    I have been used to buying mint hot chocolate pods from another company, but they were out of stock so I decided to give this a try. In reading other reviews, many indicated that they just used water, but the container specified to use milk, or a milk alternative so I used soy milk, heating the milk first. On adding the cocoa, it was difficult to mix in and took a lot of stirring. I feel that if I had made a paste first, it would have mixed easier. However, the taste for me was exceptional. I am pretty sensitive to artificial sweeteners but I couldn't taste the stevia and it had a lovely mint flavour. I only have had to use one heaped spoon of this hot chocolate and it is strong enough and full of chocolate flavour. I have yet to try it mixed with boiling water, but feel that it wouldn't have as smooth a consistency so will likely continue to use soy or almond milk. I will probably alternate between my usual pods and this hot chocolate. I love the flavour of this one but it is hard to mix and leaves a lot of little lumps and a thick paste around the rim when trying to get it mixed together. I definitely love the flavour and feel I am drinking a high quality cocoa.

    Whether or not sugar-free is a selling feature for you (it is for me), this is a really good hot cocoa. The instructions tell you to make it with hot milk, which I did the first time I made it, and it was really good. Ever since then, I have just made it with boiling water from my tea kettle, and honestly, have not noticed a difference in flavor or consistency. The flavor is really rich for a powdered cocoa beverage, though I honestly think they could do well to level up the mint a bit more (sometimes it is a bit underwhelming - I like the mint to be minty). I love the dark chocolate flavor though, and the powder does mix into your water/milk much better than name brand cocoas do. Hot cocoa was one of the things I missed most when I first started my diet late last year, so finding a sugar-free (as opposed to “no sugar added”) option gave me hope. Then I tasted this, and I will never go back! Absolutely the best powdered hot cocoa, sugar-free or regular, that I have ever had!
