You may be confused when you first start reading this, as it will sound more like I'm reviewing myself than the Casio Women's LA670WA-1 (they really could not come up with a better name??). I believe this watch is perfectly suited for what is apparently a niche group in the world of watch-wearers. You may be one of the 95% who easily finds a suitable watch, in which case you can check out the other reviews. For the rest of you, on the off-chance that you share any of my peculiarities, let me describe the factors that led me to consider, buy, and ultimately award a 5-star review.
Let's start by getting this out in the open: Though I consider myself to be a reasonably intelligent adult, I really cannot read an analog watch. I mean, I *can* read it... But in the time it takes me to count the lines I could have my phone out of my pocket, and with less mental stress, thus analog watches inevitably serve only to decorate my wrist. And, speaking of my wrist: I'm a smallish woman with especially tiny wrists so that most watches look like a comedy prop on me. My work takes me into a variety of conditions: some days I'm in the office meeting with people whose good opinion of me will be influenced by the professionalism of my attire; others I'm in the field wearing jeans and a high-viz vest with mud up to my elbows; and still others I'm working from home. I wanted a watch that would be office-suitable but versatile enough to wear in rough conditions and comfortable enough to want to wear all the time.
The LA670WA has a refreshingly minimalist display that makes it easy to read. It offers the usual digital accoutrements including timer and alarm (which I will probably never use), though a backlight is noticeably absent. I believe there is a cousin-model of this watch which includes a backlight if that is an absolute necessity.
The size and style of the watch is really superb! By my measure, the face is 2.2 cm by 2.2 cm (from the absolute widest points) which fits wonderfully on my under-sized wrist and the band is adjustable.
While the product description on 鶹 indicates the water resistant depth of the LA670WA is 10m, I cannot find any information to support this claim in the watch documentation. The watch is marked "Water Resistant", which according to the table in the user's guide makes it suitable for "Hand washing, rain" but not for "Water-related work, Swimming, Windsurfing, Skin Diving, or SCUBA diving". This suits my needs, but if you were looking to use this watch for swimming you may want to consider a different model.
Especially given the price tag, the watch is well made. The links feel as though they will hold together well and stand up to the moderate abuse of daily wear. The clasp holds tightly.
Overall, a great watch designed for smaller wrists without sacrificing function, durability, or digitalization!
UPDATE:
It's 6 years later and this watch is still going strong! There've been 2-3 times when it appears to have given up on life but there is still a display. I despair briefly then remember this means it's time change the battery, and it's good to go. For a half-decade I've shown it no mercy in a work environment that is brutal on a watch and it just keeps on working, and the only sign of its age/use is some light scratching that you only really notice if you look closely. Love it!
