Item comes in a 2 layer cardboard package you need to peel apart. Wasn’t the easiest to open, but it arrived undamaged and wasn’t too bad.
Item looks like a usb-a thumb drive - super small (about the size of a thumbprint). Did comes with a usb-a to usb-c converter that I didn’t need. Plugged it into my car and immediately was prompted with a screen to pair the device with my phone. Pairing was super simple and easy. Immediately able to use the CarPlay interface like normal, no significant delay on input, sound quality is excellent - if I didn’t know better, I would assume my phone was plugged in like normal.
The vehicle I’m using it in is a 2022 JLU wrangler - I don’t know about anyone else, but their U-connect system is absolute trash - Bluetooth doesn’t connect quickly when you turn the car on, and it defaults to radio. I’ve spent the past few years manually plugging my phone in rather than try to use the Bluetooth - now it just stays connected and I can really be hands free - and use all the phone features. Maps work great.
Super happy with item. Would immediately replace if it was lost or stolen.
