- Reviewed in Canada on July 1, 2025Verified PurchaseProduct is simple to install and is stable yet it can easily be removed if necessary.
- Reviewed in Canada on June 20, 2025Verified PurchaseIt's very sturdy and easy to assemble .
- Reviewed in Canada on February 28, 2025Thought that the handles were going to be stiff and rubberized, but they're actually made of a comfortable foam. It's not too thick either, so there's a good amount of force transfer on the handles. The stability on the feet was also much better than I expected. Thank goodness the back feet are wider too because you end up putting a lot more weight on them when sitting down. Not sure whether the suction cups will stick to wood or cement, but they just barely hold to laminate. It needs to be clean too.
As for assembly, it was a piece of cake, but I really wish they had put the height adjusting pins higher up on the legs. Once you set them, the only comfortable way to change them is to lay the frame sideways or upside-down. There's really no point to stoop all the way down to do it. And as for folding...yeah no. The only thing you can do is separate the back support, remove the star knobs and bolts, and fold each half forwards to basically sit flush with the handles. The entire thing doesn't fold down because there literally are no joints. That would just create weak spots along the frame. And in terms of weight capacity...the pics say 300 lbs but the description says 400 lbs, so I'm really not sure which it is. And that's quite a big discrepancy.
Fortunately the frame itself is built extremely well and it's even lighter in weight than I had anticipated. So if you ever need to move it, it's not a drag to carry. In fact, the best way for me to do it after separating the back pieces and folding them over was to pull the handles forward so that the legs were parallel to the ground and the folded sections hanging DOWN. That way you can hold a support in each hand without having to worry about the back sections folding out and striking the ground.
Overall though, despite a few very minor inconveniences, the performance and build are actually really good. However, if you're planning on using it on a textured or gritty floor, it might be prudent to adhere or mount some kind of smooth plastic pads underneath where the suction pads will go. The rubberized pad material is pretty good at preventing slipping, but it's always better to be safe than sorry. Also would've liked to have seen handles that are angled slightly forwards, since it's actually a more ergonomic position both when sitting down and standing up. I tried to lower the front legs by a single hole, but the back feet weren't having it. lol So they definitely need to be in-line, with a perfectly horizontal handle position. I guess it is what it is. It's still a good frame that provides ample support; but vigilance is always warranted when looking for the best price. 4.5/5 stars overall.
- Reviewed in Canada on June 17, 2025Verified PurchaseVery useful for someone awaiting hip replacement. Fulfills purpose.
- Reviewed in Canada on May 21, 2025Verified PurchaseI had knee replacement and this was amazing. Very easy to install folds up really well to store until I get my other knee replaced.
- Reviewed in Canada on April 25, 2025This is one of those items no-one ever wants to use. For obvious reasons. But as we age, sometimes we don't get to choose as much as things are chosen for us by physical reality.
With a 7" height adjustment on the arms, and a rated capacity of 400 lbs, the Careboda Safety Frame, is likely to be suitable for just about everyone. I did not test the rated weight limits, but the construction and assembly are solid. I myself do not have the current need for the assistance this device provides but I did set it up for testing and found, after height adjustment to suit, that it was very stable and secure, which is really all you want and indeed must have. A small word of warning, however. Because this is NOT secured to the floor, it is important to properly distribute the weight placed on it. While quite stable and equipped with non-slip feet, it will have the potential to tip if weight is uncentered. In short, TWO hands for both beginners and long-time users.
Assembly is very simple and there is an instruction video which explains fully how to put the frame together. No surprises should be expected. As another review indicated, it really doesn't 'fold' for travel so much as partially dissemble, but it is certainly light weight enough and flexible enough to allow taking it with you, without taking too much space.
At the current time (April 25/25), a promotional discount of 30% is in effect, bringing the listed pricing of $97.99 down to a much more competitive $68.60.
While there are arguably 'better' and 'safer' designs of this type of safety frame at considerably higher pricing, for most users, the protection and safety offered by the Careboda should be perfectly adequate. The difference to me seems to be that additional anti-tipping features are available in the much more pricy alternatives. I can't show these features due to photo rights, but a quick search of frames will easily turn up examples. I have tried to therefore rate this for what it is, and not for what it is not because for MOST people needing assistance such as this, the level of safety and security provided should be perfectly adequate.

- Reviewed in Canada on April 15, 2025This toilet safety rail really hits the mark if you're looking for comfort and support without any fuss. The handles have a nice soft grip that feels secure without being too firm, and they don't slip at all. I like that there’s no need for tools to put it together either - it’s super straightforward and quick to set up.
The stability is a huge plus. It holds up to 400 pounds and genuinely feels solid when in use. The suction cup feet grip the floor well, so it doesn’t shift around, even on tile. The adjustable height is a thoughtful touch too. Whether you're shorter or taller, it's easy to find the right level that feels natural and supportive.
One of my favorite features is the foldable design. When you’re not using it or if you need to take it somewhere, it folds down easily and doesn’t take up a lot of space. It’s really practical for smaller bathrooms or travel.
Overall, it’s a great fit for anyone who wants a little extra confidence and support in the bathroom, especially seniors or anyone recovering from surgery. It’s simple, sturdy, and does exactly what it promises.

5.0 out of 5 stars It really does fold up!
This is the second "folding" toilet rail I've ordered. The first was a total dud, and only "folded up" after being half disassembled. This one is the real deal! You just remove the 2 twisting knobs that lock the arms in place, and it folds easy-peasy. They even give you a spare third knob in case you lose one. I only need this rail when my Mom comes to visit, so I don't want it on my toilet all the time. This is perfect for me. If you have a similar situation, and need a rail only for occasional use, this one is ideal. However, it's sturdy enough for routine use and I would feel safe putting it in my Mom's house. We have tested ones that go across the front of the toilet, and I have to say I much prefer these types that cross in the back. It's far less awkward not having a bar right behind your knees.
CallieIt really does fold up!

5.0 out of 5 stars Invaluable after hip surgery
I had to have hip replacement surgery which makes it difficult to get on and off the toilet during recovery. This is well made, easy to assemble and durable. It fits around almost any toilet and is both height and width adjustable for just about any size person. I highly recommend this to anyone that has had or is going to have hip, knee or ankle surgery.
