I have been wanting to replace my old Canon cartridge printer for years and had been eying the Epson EcoTanks. I found this on sale on one of the promo days and I'm very happy with it.

I've had it for about a year, don't print a lot but I would have gone through at least a couple of cartridges with my old printer, ink on this is not even a quarter down. Print quality is sufficient, I don't need anything special, just regular texts, return labels, and forms and stuff.

The software is a big improvement from the old one. It's really easy to set up. installed it on 2 windows laptops and my cell phone. My newer laptop for some reason took forever to install but i was eventually able to do it. Now on that laptop it's a bit glitchy, if the printer turns itself off after a while, I have to restart my computer for it to recognize it, which is a bit of a pain because I usually keep it in standby. Software works without issues on Android phone, even better than Microsoft, however I'm still trying to figure out how to print pictures without it being the size of the paper.

Altogether I'm really happy with this, especially because ink costs a fraction of the old cartridges and it's absolutely sufficient for home use.

I have received the printer in a box… immersed in black ink! It took me at least two hours to clean most of it (the blue rubber gloves that you see in the photos) it stained my wooden floors too! I also had a black, cyan, magenta…. but no yellow ink bottles…

After all this, I thought that it could print… No! I tried the cleaning, the deep cleaning… nothing but pale monochrome stripes of an original… a heavy, useless product to return!

Again I went back to my old and satisfying cartridges. It might be more expensive although you can be sure of the quality.

I never been more satisfied with a printer, The print quality is perfect for my needs. It’s true that you must use the right kind of paper, but when you find the perfect mix, the result are incredible. I like the fact that you can do borderless printing, It’s perfect for printing pictures. The Eco tank reservoir is a must, no more playing with inc cartridges, but make sure to use Canon inks, not sure I would have the same result with another brand. The scanner part is not that amazing since the resolution is not that high, but it’s perfect for every day, scanning and copying. Make sure you use the driver from the Canon website. The one included with most OS is missing most of the functions. There’s also a lot of parts that can be changed, like the ink sponge.
