I waited for many months before purchasing this product. Based on my past experience with a non-oem grip on a Nikon D7100, I was actually waiting for Neewer to come out with their knockoff for my Canon R5 Mk II. I actually e-mailed Neewer two times to inquire about a release date for their expected product. They politely asked me to be patient as one was in the works. The weeks turned to months and still no product. With some degree of monetary reluctance, I finally ordered the Canon product. I'm glad that I did. The fit, finish and functionality is outstanding. It works great to balance out RF 200-800 and RF 100-500 lenses. I also wanted the superior convenience and functionality of the vertical shooting controls. And, of course, the extended battery life is most welcome. This product doesn't dissapoint.

I bought this because another vendor that I bought my R5MKII was having an issue getting the grip from Canon. It is a tight fit and the only issue that I have with it is that it blocks the air intake on the base of the camera, which may lead to some overheating in certain situations. I overheated mine on a 75° F day shooting stills, but I was holding down the focus button to track some really jumpy kinglets. If you are doing a lot of video I would say that you should consider getting the grip with the fan in it. On the good side, having the extra battery capacity really is a nice feature on these mirrorless cameras since they tend to drain your battery fairly quickly.
