    Bought this for my dads walking stick. It always seems to be too far away - leaning against a wall - or on an angle across the floor where my mum might trip on it. This allows him to keep it vertical and close at hand. The only issue is that it needs to be fairly close to the handle of the stick, at the top, to be effective in order to keep it well balanced. This means that it isn’t as effective for shorter tables.

    To be honest, I was a little skeptical about this item. However, I never know what to do with my cane when I have to sit somewhere as most table or counter surfaces are not designed with canes in mind, and I often worry someone will trip over my can when I have to lean it against something. This little gizmo seems to be the answer. You can hang your cane from tables or chairs or counters easily or even lean it against a wall. It may need to be adjusted for the surface, but it slides up and down the cane and can be rotated on the cane easily. It is also easy to remove (to store in a purse or pocket), if necessary, and easy to put back on. Nice little product.

    So I ordered this to have something similar on my main larger cane I use everyday. I had ordered something similar but it was way to small for my larger diameter cane so I threw it on my old cane and was like wow this is really nice to be able to have my cane stand up easier without it falling over all the time but I could never find anything large enough for my huge diameter cane until now! When I seen this after years of not having one on my big cane I ordered it immediately! It works fairly well as is but I noticed the other day it was kinda coming apart a little where you connect it and I thought oh man I'm glad I caught that otherwise it may have fallen off if I was outside dredging through the snow. So my idea on how to make this better would be one of two different ways the first would be make the thin straps a little stronger or the entire thing basically or what I thought of right away was to put a small zip tie on the thin straps right where you connect it to the other end. It's hard to explain if you haven't used one but you can see it in the pic. I wish I had some small black zip ties accessible but I don't know where they are so I had to use a black twist tie.

    I bought this for my wife, who uses a cane most of the time. It works, some of the time. She spends a good deal of time in the kitchen, but the walls are covered with cabinets. If she leans it against a cabinet and a nearby door closes, the cane is almost sure to fall. There's an island in the middle of the kitchen, but hanging it from the smooth counter top with this hanger doesn't work well. I've noticed that she seldom uses the hanger anymore. Her main cane has a rubber hand grip and she finds that to be more effective, with fewer drops. When shopping, she puts the cane in the cart and leans on the cart itself when she needs additional support.

With just a little careful adjustments for height and balance (being sure most of the weight of my cane is over whatever I’m hanging it on) I have been able secure it on virtually anything: dining tables, coffee tables, bathroom and kitchen counters of various heights and if no “table/counter is top around, simply by turning the cane handle around facing away and leaning it with the two wings of the device turned against a wall, it stays there quite nicely.
