[UPDATE] Reached out to CableMatters customer service about the one with the bent prongs, they shipped a full replacement set promptly. For that reason, I am giving them five stars. One of them was in perfect condition, one of them was dirty and the last one had bent prongs. Not sure if these will last or not. All three work.

    These switches are useful in all kinds of applications, keeping in mind that they are 2-prong, and lack the 3rd ground pin. I use one to control a power block, those plug-in transformers that are to be found on the power cords of so many devices these days, and which often get warm, indicating continuous power use. The switch allows them to be shut down, except when needed, thus saving power.

    I wish these were a little cheaper because I genuinely wish I had one for every lamp and extension cord in my house. Flipping the switch is so much quicker than fumbling for a light switch under a shade. I also love it for fans. That being said, do be aware that when set to “on” the switch lights up red. If you plan on having some tbh ing switched on in a dark room you may want to look for a different product.
