    This stapler seems to be reasonably powerful. It is mostly made of plastic hence it is really light and probably not very robust but it drives staples well. I have been using it for a couple of weeks now on a woodworking project and have had no staple jams. An added plus is that it does not take much muscle power to squeeze the trigger.

    This is a nice light staple gun. However much like the original model it's flimsy plastic. The original used a roller on the end of that rod you see the handle connected to in the photos. It wore down before long and you couldn't squeeze the handle enough to release the hammer and drive the staple in. I've rebuilt mine many times and looked at others reviews of it and the same cheap plastic conclusions come up every time. It got to the point that i made a hard steel clip to hold the front of the stapler together after so many times fixing it with JB weld glue. The Arrow powershot is a bit better in it's internal design but it also has a lower quality forked spring when compared to the craftsman model. Very easy to put in a staple crooked with the Arrow model and it's about half as strong hammer wise as the craftsman model.
    I wish a brand like Rapid would me a "forward action" staple gun. They're renound for their back action staple guns. They don't mess around when it comes to quality and they use steel. Forward action staplers have an advantage for things like stapling tarps or plastic on greenhouses. I wouldn't say that the craftsman is better than minimal setting on my rapid staple gun. Remember the Rapid settings change how high the spring gets pulled to force the hammer down. The set pin in the Rapid staple gun is over 1/4" (6+mm) thick solid steel for serious work.

    I’ve been using this CRAFTSMAN reverse squeeze stapler for a few weeks now, and I’m genuinely impressed. It’s extremely lightweight, which makes it easy to use without hand fatigue. The reverse handle design gives you excellent control and doesn’t require much force to drive in staples cleanly, even into tough, hard materials.
    While it’s not made of heavy metal like my older 40 year old stapler, the lighter composite build hasn’t compromised performance at all. It handles various staple sizes smoothly and reliably.
