Good affordable sturdy metal planter
Let's be honest, if we wanted something looked beautiful and super solid, we'd buy the $700 cedar planters. I was pleasantly surprised about the quality as I wasn't expecting it to be super sturdy. Hopefully the metal will last but I'm also not expecting miracles. This is a great price for the size and what it is. Assembly was easy. In classic fashion I looked at the picture on the front of the instructions and just started to put it together in completely the opposite order suggested on the back. It was still easy. You'll need a screw driver and wrench as it has nuts. There's a lot of them which is why it takes a while. It came with extra bolts and nuts as well in case you strip some. The unrolled edges are sharp which is to be expected. The hardest part was putting on the plastic feet and caps but a quick smack on the floor solved it. I would recommend doing that first as your very first step. Seems sturdy and there are crossbraces along the bottom with drain holes in each of the corners. Nothing in the middle but if you were really that worried you could drill a few. There's corner brackets in each corner as well. Took a picture of the bottom of anyone is worried about the structural integrity. I feel like the legs might be the weakest point but the bottom shelf helps stabalize. Overall I'm very pleased with how it came together and the cost. Time will tell how long it will hold up.

    Time will tell if the metal lasts but assembly was easy, there were drainage holes in each corner (seems they addressed this issue after customer complaints, there are 4 1/4" holes stamped into each corner, and excess water does drip out of them).

    It looks attractive enough, too, no bait and switch,. What you see in the pics is exactly what you get. For the price, honestly you can't beat this value.

    There was an issue with the instructions, there are different size screws and the instructions seem to say you use the largest size for the bottom shelf, but you do not. You use the smaller size screws on the wire shelf and keep the 8 large screws of the bottom of the actual garden bed that has a wider support structure. You will need your own tools to assemble this, at least to fully tighten everything (required, do not fill this with loose screws). A single adjustable wrench and a phillips screwdriver was all we used, but if you have a socket wrench set that should work fine too.

    We put the garden bed together today. Everything went as it should with a few extra screws left over. The caps to put on the bottom and top on the legs was a bit of a fight as they fit extremely tight. Took a little over an hour but no hitches along the way. There are 4 drainage holes in each corner. It’s a good looking unit and l am impressed with how well it looks and the sturdiness of it. Can’t wait for planting time….may have to hire pickers..lol. Definitely will recommend it.
