Just got around to installing this android head unit in my 2011 Audi Q5. My Concert stereo has Aux input, so I had to install an extra AMI cable to get sound from the Android unit.
Like others, I also had to do some minor modifications to the opening on the mounting bracket and cover plate, as the original display cable has a 90 degree connector, that forces the wires to bind in the opening. Just had to notch out a small section to ease the fitment.
The enclosed user manual for this unit states this should only be installed an experienced installer, so they do not have installation instructions attached. It was pretty straight forward except I got caught up on one connection for the Canbus/gateway cable. I had watched a YouTube install for an nearly identical unit, and thought the connection was in the same place, off the Canbus module behind the stereo. But my connectors were different and would not fit. I reached out to customer support and they responded very quickly with the clarification I needed. Hook up the canbus connector directly to the back of the air conditioning control panel. Too easy! Everything connected as it should, and worked as good as I had hoped. Apple carplay and Android auto work seamlessly by wired connection, haven't yet tried via Bluetooth, so cannot comment on that yet.
So far, I am extremely pleased with the quality, the fit and finish and most happy with the customer support. Highly recommend !!!
