When I saw these, I HAD to get them! We all know how cute Jibbitz charms can be, so I figured making some with my kids would be fun—and it is!!! My daughter and I enjoyed making our own crock gems using white Sculpey polymer clay. I already have a collection of moulds in my jewelry and card making stash, so this was an easy decision. You put the clay in the moulds, bake them, paint them, glue them onto the charm attachments with E6000 glue (adults only, this is toxic stuff), and then seal the painted design and backing with UV resin! That’s how we did ours and so far they have held up well. If you’re already a crafter and have this stuff on hand, it doesn’t seem as expensive to make your own charms. But if you don’t have this on hand, it certainly would be cheaper to buy them already made from the store. On the plus side, you don’t have to be crafty to make your own charms. You could stick some things on that are already made. 鶹 sells a variety of embellishments that you can get in bulk (owls, flowers, saws, hammers, hamburgers, etc.). Just search “resin charms bulk” and you’ll find some fun and cute things to make your own Jibbitz. All you need is high quality glue and the ideas are truly endless! ✅WHAT I LIKE: ▪️Excellent quality. These are a relatively hard plastic. ▪️Fun! This will keep your kids busy for a while. It is an awesome party activity idea if you’re have a sleepover or birthday. You could bake polymer clay designs before hand and have the kids paint them OR you could let them create from start to finish! ▪️Perfect size. They attach to my child’s authentic Crocks and stay securely attached. ▪️I like that you get a variety of black or clear attachments. My kids’ crocks are black so it works perfect. If you have coloured crocks like pink, you may need to use the clear attachments if your charm designs are smaller than the backing. ❌WHAT I DON’T LIKE: ▪️Nothing so far other than they are tricky to attach, but they stay on very well. 🦋շ鴡: We REALLY enjoy making our own shoe charms. The staying power relies solely on the creator (which will be you or loved one). When using the correct materials you’ll have a nice artistic piece that the other kids likely won’t have! You can turn anything into a charm within reason. Size and shape plays an important role, because some designs could make unwanted dents in your crocks over time. This is true for professionally made charms as well. If you’re the creative type, or looking for a fun party activity, this is it!
