    True, printer ink is expensive, but this is about as reasonable as it gets if you want the brand name stuff. I have never had an issue with this ink and am leery to try the no name stuff. If you think like me, this is a high quality ink at a reasonable price.

    I have owned my Brother MFC-6490CW printer for almost two years now. I prefer OEM carts over dodgy generics. If I'm "trapped by time",that is I wait until one of the carts run dry in the middle of a print,I have to wait until the local office supply mart opens and I pay $10 more on this product plus sales tax. I don't have to and neither should you.

    When my ink levels drop below 50%,I order this 3 color pack from 鶹 and have it on my doorstep in two days with 鶹 Prime. No more remembering to drop by the local store only to find it out of stock.

    鶹 is really the best way to fly as far as I'm concerned.

    Update 12/05/2011: Just got it Monday. Check a local store that stocked the same item:$49 for the same three-pack plus tax to bring it to $53. I saved well over $20.

    There's only so much that can be said about ink cartridges; either they do or don't give you trouble. I'm pleased to say that these fall into the latter category.

    My first computer was an Apple II, so I can fairly state that I've owned many printers. Most of them, including some very highly rated HP printers, gave me trouble almost from the start. I've had nothing but smiles from my Brother printer, and since my kids are in College and Graduate School, we are doing more printing than ever.

    I find these ink cartridges to be hassle free and fairly long lasting when compared to other brands of print cartridges. It was wise of Brother to make 4 (including black) separate cartridges instead of lumping all colors into one cartridge like some other manufacturers. When one color runs out, I just replace that particular cartridge.

    What can you really say? About 2 years on the printer and no ink-related problems (or any other problems.) I can't say the same when I have used "generic" cartridges in other printer brands that I have owned. They're not cheap but the original equipment cartridges never are. Really, these high yield cartridges are not a bad deal. I would recommend these to anyone over the standard yield cartridges (unless you only use your printer as a paperweight!) I only have occasional color printing requirements, and these cartridges usually go about 8 months for me. I use these (and the printer) for a part-time consulting business and for personal use. Consider that I would likely use three times the number of cartridges in one of my older (non-Brother) printers compared to one set of these - then the cost doesn't seem so high.
