I absolutely love this thing. I'm able to put my phone down and actually focus on life around me while this little device does the work for me. It's even caught several shiny pokemon for me while I was driving.
I will caution you on how it works, though. It will only use red balls to catch, so you won't catch anything if they run out. Also, because it only uses red balls, it's incredibly unlikely it will catch any difficult catches for you. You'll probably want to turn it off while you're using adventure incense, because it'll lose any chance you have of a super awesome pokemon.
I did have an issue with the first one I received. It would disconnect regularly, particularly if it wasn't plugged in. It usually stayed connected if charging in my car, though not always. But it almost never stayed connected if not charging. It was incredibly frustrating. I got a replacement that works beautifully. I occasionally have issues connecting (maybe once per week), but I've found that turning my phone's Bluetooth off and on again fixes that issue.
You will catch more Pokemon if you do it manually, because they're less likely to escape, but this helps you catch more than you would if you're driving safely or paying attention to your family.
