When I originally bought the Barista Express (knock on wood - that baby has been a workhorse!) the flaw when switching to a double dose is that the espresso starts to go everywhere as it grinds - you have to pause it - tamp then get more.

I ended up going with a unit that someone made with a 3D printer and that solved the issue. It still works but doesn't clean well and the 3D plastic was starting to come off (unwinding of sorts).

Maybe Brevelle saw that or at least finally saw the need. So I bought this unit and it is working well. Once you twist it on there is a little play but that hasn't been a problem. The only concern is the longevity of off/on with that type of plastic they used to create it. Will see.

This 54mm dosing funnel is one of those small accessories that makes a big difference, especially if you're using a Breville Barista or Bambino machine.

If you have one of Breville's 54mm espresso machines, you'll find that Breville parts have plenty of competition from lower priced manufacturers. For many parts, it does not matter, and it makes sense to save a few dollars. But for this dosing funnel, go with the Breville product. I've tried a couple of others, and they're too loose or too tight, or too shallow. This is the Goldilocks model; it fits with a soft click, and with minimal spillage. It's worth the extra money.
