👉🏾.The Consistometer is an instrument used to determine the consistency of viscous materials by measuring the distance that the material flows under its own weight in a given time interval. The instrument allows producers of such viscous products as jellies, preserves, sauces, etc. to predetermine formulas for their product and to standardize production lots.
👉🏾. It is used extensively in the food industry by producers of jams, jellies and other highly viscous products such as tomato paste, tomato ketchup, tomato puree, condensed soup, cheese sauce, batters, cake mixes, gravies, sauces, baby foods, salad dressings, frostings, fillings, chilled food and ready meals etc. (also used by manufacturers of paints, cosmetics and chemicals).
👉🏾. The Bostwick Consistometer is made in strict accordance with the standard. Standard Test Method for Determining the Consistency of Viscous Liquids Using a Consistometer.
👉🏾. Summary of Test Method. A sample of the material to be tested is poured into a reservoir and the distance of flow in a horizontal direction is read from a ruled track after a fixed time following the materials release from the reservoir.
👉🏾. Significance and Use. This measurement of flow gives results that cannot be predicted with viscosity measurements, due to surface tension and density effects. The measured flow, is related to flow performance of viscous materials sprayed on aircraft surfaces or other large structures.
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on 鶹. It also analyzes reviews to verify trustworthiness.
the unit arrive in good condition, however the parts are kind of loose. The sliding gate of the unit does not easily slide down and does not fit the same way as our previous instrument, feels loose. The unit looks cheap and we would be looking into more sturdy instrument.
