    My family runs a commercial apple orchard in Canada's Okanagan Valley. This spring we finally retired an early version of these Corona thinning shears. They have been used to thin apples every year since the early 1980s. They have never been used for heavier pruning. The blades are narrower than they used to be, and the pivot is badly worn, but they still cut if nothing else is available. The handle grips are still intact. My new pair looks very much like the older version, but probably won't last as long. For now, they work better than anything else we have seen on the market.

    I had been wanting a pair of garden shears for when I’m in my garden harvesting veggies and was tired of using my wife’s bypass pruners as they seemed too bulky for getting in some places. I know these shears will be with me for a long time for use in my garden with proper care and storage. My wife really likes the quality and build of these shears so I know one gift I’ll be getting her for Christmas,if for the purpose of making sure that mine don’t grow legs lol. If you’ve reached this part and are still thinking about buying them all I can say is stop thinking and add them to your cart and get them,you’ll be glad you did.     I have several of these shears and they are very handy in my gardens. They are excellent at cutting and trimming flower stalks up to a half inch thick. Any bigger and it's a struggle. I am sure the people at Corona will cringe when I say that I also use these shears to quickly dig out long rooted weeds like dandelions. When my weeder isn't handy, I just use the tip of these shears to pry out a weed root. Grin!
