Blumat Classics function simply, using a siphon to pull water from a reservoir into a container, emitting it through the porous ceramic cone. Austrian-Engineered plant stakes that are superior in design, material quality, and durability.

Blumat Classic

Advance Watering Technology

As the soil dries, the ceramic cone delivers water gradually into the surrounding earth - thereby creating a vacuum within the cone which draws water from the nearby container of water. Once the soil is moistened the Blumat will cease flowing water. It waters your plants only as needed.

Adjust Water Flow

  • If the Blumat is over-watering your plant, you can place the reservoir lower (relative to the Blumat). The reservoir can be as far as 12″ below the Blumat while still watering your plant, albeit slowly.
  • If the Blumat is under-watering your plant, you can raise the reservoir relative to the Blumat. The higher the reservoir, the faster the flow rate.

Easy Set Up

Step 1

Fill a bowl with water. Remove the top of the Blumat. Put both the top and ceramic cone into the bowl for at least 15 minutes. Submerge the ceramic cones.

Step 2

Remove the cone from the water, while keeping it as full of water as possible. Secure the green cap on top.

Step 3

Push the ceramic cone into the soil. Place the anchor on the far end of the 3mm tubing into a reservoir.

Extends watering intervals!
The Blumat Classic Automatic Self Watering Plant Stakes are awesome! They extend the watering intervals for my plants. I have to admit I'm not the best at remembering to water so these are going to work perfect. I see some reviews of people saying these don't work. I believe this is due to not getting the siphon right. I followed the instructions by soaking everything in a bowl of water for about 15 mins. I kept the cap that goes on the top of the stake submerged and drew the water in like you would sucking on a straw. Then put my finger on the other end of the line so I wouldn't loose the siphon. Fill the stake to the top and place the cap on. This would have been easier if I had an extra set of hands to help. Place the end of the line in a glass or jar filled with water and remove your finger. Then place the stake in the soil. I initially raised the glass higher than the pot, which according to the instructions should increase the "flow" of water. I was able to see how much water it was drawing by putting a mark on the glass with a dry erase pen. Depending on the size of plant, this may not replace regular watering. I have a few larger plants that these just cant supply enough water to. But they extend the times in between watering. These are also perfect for when I go on vacation.

    These work so well! Bought two sets to see if my poor indoor plants might fare better while I was away for two weeks. Usually I come home to my plants being droopy, dry, and desperate for water — not this time! They all looked great and healthy! Shocked at how much water they went through and so glad I had these in place to provide that water while I was away. I give these a 4.5⭐️ rating — would be 5 but the size of the plug is a bit annoying for smaller plants/pots, so I wish the base was a bit smaller overall (or available in different sizes maybe?). But that’s just being nitpicky.

    I'm really good at following instructions carefully and watched several Youtube videos on how to prime the Blumat clay carrot in water for at least 15 minutes along with soaking the cap in water. I also capped and uncapped the carrot underwater to ensure all the air bubbles were pushed out of the entire device and always keep the water uptake end in the water.....despite re-priming all three clay carrots multiple times (which is exhausting), none of them would release water to my plants!! 😮‍💨 I tried placing the carrots in different soil types such as a more aerated medium with bark chips like my calamondin plant and I also tried placing the carrots in a more traditional potting soil with my philodendron - the carrot would not release water at all despite ensuring the soil area was damp prior to inserting the carrot.
    I will note that strangely, one of the three clay carrots was "working" while I was priming the clay carrot and cap in a bowl of water....but as soon as I capped the carrot and pushed out any air bubbles, inserted it into the soil of a houseplant, it simply wouldn't work at all and I monitored it over a few days. I really wanted this product to work given all the rave reviews and how easy it would be to not have to use my moisture meter to monitor certain plants before watering (or not). Ah well.

    鶹 helped issue a return/refund for this item that DID NOT WORK - so 5-stars for 鶹 customer service ⭐️

    Muy contento con la compra. El sistema requiere un montaje meticuloso, aconsejo consultar algún vídeo con explicaciones muy detalladas; ya que las que viene en el paquete son insuficientes. Si se coloca correctamente, jugando con las alturas de las plantas y los depósitos de agua. Se ceba el circuito a la perfección sin dejar burbujas, (yo utilicé una jeringa para facilitar la tarea), se utilizan suficientes conos según el tamaño de la maceta y se coloca suficiente agua en el depósito, el sistema funciona perfectamente. Aconsejo colocar un peso al final del circuito para evitar que flote. Lo utilicé para las plantas del balcón, unas 15 en total, de tamaño mediano y grande, durante 3 semanas y al volver de vacaciones las plantas estaban mejor que cuando las riego yo, incluyendo el helecho que necesita bastante cuidados. Usé 1 cono por maceta, tal vez en macetas grandes se necesiten 2. El montaje de todo el riego no es simple, ni rápido, pero el resultado es asombroso (siempre que se realice todo el proceso correctamente). Aconsejo la compra. Entrega rápida. Buen precio.

    The watering cones do the job perfectly. I went away for a month, so I used them for a croton and a ficus that need watering once a week. The suitable amount of water was gone from the glass containers and the plants were watered and fine. Highly recommended. Just follow instructions on the packaging and obv water the plants before, otherwise all the water for being away will be gone too quickly. The soil must be saturated so cones replenish rather than fully water.
