    The base monitor works great. It is easy to use and very legible. If I had bought it only for that, that would be 5 stars.
    The app is very basic and allow recording and tracking your blood pressure over time.
    It forces you to create an account with email and password. This likely mean the data is stored in the cloud and I really hope this data is safe and not shared/sold to third parties
    If you want anything else like synchronization of this data with Apple health you will have to pay. I think it is $30 per year. That does not sit well with me.
    I am going to uninstall the app and continue using the base monitor and track things by hand.

    Normally, I wouldn't write up a scathing product review. But in this case, people need to know that although the blood pressure meter itself is perfectly fine, it's the Bluetooth set-up and accompanying software that is not worth a dime.

    Keep in mind that I've worked in computers for over fifty years. I've seen just about every kind of product and software out there. I'm no stranger to Android software, or blood pressure apps.

    My first challenge, once I received this machine, was to set up the Bluetooth connectivity. Although it wasn't an impossible task, the process was far from seamless. I could only imagine what a typical non-techie type person would have to go through to make this work.

    Secondly, once the associated app was installed on my phone, it became apparent that the developers were only interested in soaking their customers for money on a yearly basis. The "basic" app itself was so devoid of features as to be almost useless. But the emphasis here was on paying the "extortion money" for "Premium" features, none of which I would even loosely call "premium". In fact, I've used many free blood pressure database apps that run circles around this awful software.

    I have no issues with a software company charging $10 - $30 for a lifetime license to use a good program, something you know will be maintained and developed. But in this case, the price point and app quality just don't match up. Making it a yearly subscription falls into line with many software companies like Adobe who feel it necessary to gouge its customer base through an unjust subscription service.

    Anyone who is having to monitor their blood pressure, and needs a machine to track their heart usually aren't swimming in money. They often have to pay for medications, travel to hospitals, ambulance services and so on. Why take advantage of people saddled with heart disease?

    Needless to say, once I realized how poor the software was and the price they were demanding for "premium" service, I immediately arranged to have the device returned to 鶹. Again, the hardware itself looked okay, and did what it was supposed to do. But the software was a complete deal-breaker.

    I only hope 鶹's review moderators allow my comments to be posted. The sellers of this meter should put pressure on the developers to change their app charges and improve the software.
