I did lots of research before purchasing and I was unsure about the table top version but so glad I went with this one. It’s much bigger than I imagined. I bought the stand separate which I’m glad I did. You don’t have to buy a stand but I wanted a very sturdy place for it. I also bought a cover and that is shipped. I did my first cook up yesterday which was burgers, onions and mushrooms and they turned out awesome!! I have lots in mind I will try, cant wait :). If you will be cooking for a ex large family I would go with the bigger grill but you still have lots of cooking space with this one. It’s great for a family of 4 or more depending on what you will be cooking. Clean up is super easy. You must season your grill and this does take a bit of time but it’s a must. I did buy the blackstone season and conditioning because I wanted to make sure I did it right. Be sure to have a lot of propane because it will take some time to do it properly. The black you see on the grill pictures is normal and this is what you want to see (this is why the name is Blackstone). I also bought the propane connector hose to connect to my large propane tank but you can also use the smaller ones as well. The smaller ones are great if you want to take your grill with you camping or tailgating, etc. I would suggest you buy the proper utensils for cooking on a grill. I bought the blackstone kit but I’m thinking any good quality grill utensils will do. One more thing, buy the grease collector foil trays…saves a lot of clean up time. You throw them in the garbage when they are full. Start up may cost a little in the beginning but well worth it. I’m thinking my BBQ may be pushed to the side now :)

    I also bought the propane connector hose to connect to my large propane tank but you can also use the smaller ones as well. The smaller ones are great if you want to take your grill with you camping or tailgating, etc.

    I would suggest you buy the proper utensils for cooking on a grill. I bought the blackstone kit but I’m thinking any good quality grill utensils will do. One more thing, buy the grease collector foil trays…saves a lot of clean up time. You throw them in the garbage when they are full. Start up may cost a little in the beginning but well worth it.     Finally jumped on and joined the Blackstone family. Everything was packaged well. This modem came with the metal cover and was cheaper then most of the same size models with no cover. Was an easy install as the cover was already installed on the griddle. There was a bonus Blackstone carry bag in the box as well. Rust is already coming out. 1 strip on the right hand side of the burner box and then on the left side of the cover. This unit has been covered basically since I got it. The unit is under my covered porched so it has never seen rain. For the price I payed, I really didn’t expect it to start rusting this fast. So begs the question is this a real “blackstone”. I really love the griddle, works great. The original purchase was intended to take with us when we go camping and loved it so much that i have been shopping for a bigger one to keep at the house. But now noticing this today have doubts if I will buy another blackstone.

I really love the griddle, works great. The original purchase was intended to take with us when we go camping and loved it so much that i have been shopping for a bigger one to keep at the house. But now noticing this today have doubts if I will buy another blackstone.

    Already having a 36" Blackstone that has caused me to retire my gas grill. The size and portability of the 22" allows me to bring it to cook outs and now we have more juicy burgers and everything cooks faster. I seasoned with vegetable oil when it arrived and after 5 oil smoke offs the surface was ready to cook on. I purchased the propane adaptor hose to use a 20 lb gas cylinder with my unit and not the small tanks so I don't know how long a small tank lasts as I wanted to be sure not to run out of gas during a cook, but I guess for small excursions the small tanks are ok. One suggestion is to keep a small level and before using make sure cooking surface has a slight slope to the back grease drain so that cooking grease doesn't pool where you don't want it.

    Ordered the 22" with attached hood and stand without wheels.

    First impressions.... Well packaged, easy to set up. Seems top heavy when sitting on stand, but I'm guessing it will be fine sitting on my deck. seasoning was easy and a good time/reason to mix a drink. My first use was a good experience... Heats up fairly quick and grilled onions on one side, potatoes on the other. While it was warming up, I checked the temp with a infrared temp gun and noticed the temps would vary from 275 around the edges to 575 right over the burners. I am running propane out of a 20lb tank and the temps never really seemed to adjust up or down when control knobs were turned up or down respectively. Moving the temp gun an inch or so to the left or right from over the burner gets a temperature change of 50-75 degrees. To be fair, I was checking only after the griddle had heated for 5-7 minutes. My guess is the temp may have evened out some if it had heated for a longer time.

    I think the design could benefit from a redesign of the burners to even out the temps across the griddle, but it still gets the job done. My other complaint which is minor, has to do with the placement of the propane hookup on the side of the griddle. It sticks out right in front of the "prep" tray and seems in the way... again, simple redesign placement could solve a minor, but irritating issue.

    For the price, it's a good deal. I like the 22" model with the smaller footprint yet plenty of room to do what most people will be using it for.

    Fantastic grill. Perfect size for all your needs. Small enough to take camping (although slightly heavy) but big enough to handle the demand of a big family. We use it at home and on the go. Definitely definitely definitely season this grill well before using. Beef tallow or the blackstone seasoning works fantastic. If you don’t you’re risking rusting and all sorts of problems. If you take care of it though it will last a very long time. So satisfied with this purchase i’m thinking about buying a second one for my mom’s house.
