- Reviewed in Canada on June 2, 2024Verified PurchaseThis has been an annoying journey to eventually find the right coffee/grinder experience. I wanted to make my own fresh ground coffee with a high quality grinder and machine. First I went with Cuisinart and their machines were overly complicated, sensors were tripping off as if a make believe child was putting it's fingers in the safe guards, and the grinder itself on two machines just seemed under-powered and way too loud. Then I switched to the Dr. Mills grinder and it didn't even have a power button to tell you if it was on or not; let alone the design of the machine seeming to be made by someone who overcomplicates things. So then I went with the Black+Decker grinder here. Was fearful of the less powerful engine than the Dr. Mills one, but I was surprised to find out that the Black+Decker grinder was not only fast, but quieter than the Cuisinart grinder machines. The burr grinding is perfect vs. anything chopped as the beans become as good or better ground than store bought coffee. Depending on the coffee bean you buy, you'll notice a night and day flavour that is remarkable thanks to the Black+Decker burr grinder and the coffee bean you buy. I then bought a simple $40 Black+Decker coffee machine and both this grinder and machine work perfect. My coffee tastes better than a coffee shop and it only cost me about $80 for a grinder and machine plus the bean costs. Thanks Black+Decker for continuing to make excellent products.
- Reviewed in Canada on April 25, 2023Verified PurchaseDecided it was time to purchase a coffee grinder after multiple failed attempts at using a mini food processor to grind beans for my coffee addiction. Got it out of the box, excited to use it, plugged it in, got beans in there and tried to grind them up. No such luck. After repeating the same steps a few times with the same results, I caved and read the user instructions, particularly the troubleshooting section. The solution it gave...make sure bean and grounds cannister lids are on securely. Of course they are on securely, that's can't be it! Put my hand on top of bean cannister lid, and it closed up more. Tried the button...Eureka! It works! Maybe it wasn't on as securely as I thought the first time...
Anyways, once I had everything securely in place, it ground the coffee beans quickly and to the right grind, and I don't know why I didn't invest in this sooner.
- Reviewed in Canada on March 24, 2025Verified PurchaseWe were looking for a replacement for our Bosch coffee grinder which wore out after only 36 years of continuous use. The B&D product was chosen based on other reviews. The CBM310BD is an absolutely horrible product. If my development team would have made a product like this, I would have taken them all out for a beer and said, "you have two strikes."
The CBM310BD is a burr grinder that has a pass through grinding mode. The pass through clogs up because coffee has some natural lipids that clog close passageways. The lid for the fill bin doesn't always engage properly due to ground coffee getting in the sensors. The ground coffee bin will not engage properly so the unit stops until you clean it. This is a poor design for grinding coffee beans. It is even a poor design if the ground material didn't have any triglycerides found in "coffee oil."
Truly, this is a very poor design and is a pain in the a double $ to keep working. Based on this burr grinder, I would steer clear of all burr grinders. Perhaps this is the only one that is truly horrible. (I'm not taking any chances.)
I highly recommend a blade grinder that has the beans remain in the grinding/ fill compartment. NO catchment bin. No catchment bin sensors to fail. I am looking at several blade grinders, and I find that not only are the reviews better, the product is more affordable.
- Reviewed in Canada on April 7, 2025Verified PurchaseGreat product and easy to use. Grinds coffee beans in a whizz.
- Reviewed in Canada on February 21, 2025Verified PurchaseI have bought a few grinders in my life but I must say this particular one is the very best one I have ever used and owned. Used it once so far but the overall operation of it was better then I hoped! Forget these over priced ones being sold, this little Beauty is very quite and has a variety of grinfpds available.
- Reviewed in Canada on February 22, 2024Verified PurchaseYou get what you spend for a burr grinder ,it works ,but barely ,it stalls alot and the grind adjustment is frustrating
- Reviewed in Canada on June 14, 2025Verified PurchaseStopped working after a couple of years. No way to get coarse grind, always made powder even on largest setting.
- Reviewed in Canada on January 11, 2021Verified PurchaseI had this grinder for over 2 months and it has been working great! For my French press, I set it to the 6 grind level and for my espresso I set it a few notches before the end - both work as they should. As for the number of cups, it has been my experience that it is the equivalent of 1 tablespoon of coffee. A lot of people use that ration - 1 tablespoon of coffee for 1 cup of coffee. I did not find that it had that much static - a lot less than my previous $100 grinder. As for cleaning, it's pretty easy too. Overall, I am very satisfied with it. You do have to make sure that all the parts are in their position otherwise it will not start. One time, the upper cover of the coffee beans compartment was not properly closed due to some residue of the beans that felt on the side and the machine did not start. Once I removed the residue and closed properly the cover, the grinder worked. I read a lot of the negative reviews - maybe the company improved the grinder.

5.0 out of 5 stars Read the reviews carefully
Verified PurchaseI notice that this site lumps together three totally different kinds of coffee grinder into one listing. What should be mere color differences are actually different models, some burr mill and some with the chopping blades, so when reading the reviews, take care to note which one they're talking about. Mine was the BLACK+DECKER CBM310BD Burr Mill Coffee Grinder, Black. I bought it to replace an older B&D that failed after several years from worn-out parts. This new one is made somewhat similarly to the old one, with a timer added, so I'm expecting similar longevity (which is good). I liked the last one, and I like this one. The fineness is easily controlled, and it works well enough for espresso. It's a burr mill, so the consistency is pretty good. Sometimes the beans stick, and I have to shake it a little to get it flowing, and I can't make coffee without getting powdered grinds all over the counter, but I don't mind. The drawer and the lid both have micro switches preventing operation while open. Even if the safety mechanisms failed it wouldn't matter, because the moving parts are buried and hidden. You couldn't hurt yourself unless you really tried (on the model that I got). Be sure not to over-fill the reservoir, because it won't run if you can't get the lid pushed all the way down.

5.0 out of 5 stars Buen producto
Verified PurchaseEl molino cumple perfectamente con su función, al principio hay que encontrar la posición correcta para que la tapa no tire el grano mientras se muele, las diferentes opciones de molido sin muy buenas y en general es un producto que vale la pena.

1.0 out of 5 stars If you don't like morning frustration, don't buy this product.
Verified PurchaseVery frustrating to use. The coffee beans would jamb at the bottom of the hopper preventing them from entering the grinding mill. Thus, it would not grind at all until you shook the machine or pounded it on the counter. (we tried several different brands of coffee beans)
Had to push the start button twice to get enough grounds for a full 12 cup brew. The top hopper only holds enough beans for one brew which meant we had to fill it again for each 12 cup brew.
We since bought the Cuisinart Mill Grinder with the large hopper, and longer grinding capability. It has been fantastic.
