Like most mechanical scales you can adjust the scale so the mark lines up with zero. If I step on the scale and get off, the line is now below zero, so I adjust and try again only to get the line above zero. I wanted a mechanical scale because I thought it would be more consistent even if it wasn't accurate but this one is not accurate enough for me.

It looks good though so I'll give it 2 stars.
