- Reviewed in Canada on May 3, 2021Verified PurchaseWonderful book that gives a new perspective on what life is. The book requires some patience to understand at first possibly some interest in biology or science i needed to get the whole picture. One small criticism I have is that we should not blame the medical community or scientists in general and say that they are all after money. The medical community works hard to save lives and proof is in the recent epidemic. I think spiritual and energy healing should definitely be an option for treatment in addition to traditional medicine but the criticism of doctors and medical professionals will not make them eager to be open minded and will likely deter them from reading this book.
- Reviewed in Canada on February 25, 2023Verified PurchaseI read a ton of nonfiction and heard about this book for a while….I ordered it, but didn’t have any expectations (due to the large number of overly “praised” fluff that’s out there). This author is an excellent writer/thinker. I’m only 1/3 through the book since I just got it, but I’m loving every page. This author has a clever way of presenting his ideas, simplifying complex concepts/systems, and then supporting evidence using a cross-disciplinary approach. I haven’t finished reading yet, but enjoying so far and recommend.

- Reviewed in Canada on December 8, 2016Verified PurchaseI can't say enough great things about this book, basically it saved my life. I have stage II brain cancer and was told I had 5-7 years to live....I was told about this book, and was so grateful to have read it. In some parts, it was very 'scientific' and a bit too technical for me to understand, only because I sustained brain damage from the brain tumour surgery, however the rest of this book is AMAZING!!! I have recommended this book to so many people who have been diagnosed with a critical/life threatening illness, I believe it has changed their way of thinking....that an illness is not an automatic death sentence. I belive without a doubt what Dr. Bruce Lipton has proved in his book, that the mind truly can heal the body, right down to the cellular level and I highly recommend this amazing book!!!
- Reviewed in Canada on July 22, 2019Verified Purchaseblow your mind away, open your eyes to new possibilities and a new reality of how your mind shapes the rest of your world and life...and you can reprogram your own DNA and rewire yourself. Never see yourself or the world around you in the same light ever again...make you see everything including yourself like you're seeing it all for what it really is for the first time in your life...wakes you up into a whole new state of enlightenment...never read anything more mind bending or powerful!
- Reviewed in Canada on April 10, 2025Verified PurchaseThe general concept is very interesting and I personally admire the author but this book is teaching biology in very complicated word. You need to really like to understand the details of biology to enjoy this book. I am a scientist myself and I like science. But I didn't buy this book to learn biology. There are pages and pages explaining all the details of biology, so heavy to grasp for a non biologist.
I think he could avoid all these details and go to the essence of the concept unless he actually wrote this book for biologist or someone who wants to learn biology.
Again I really like the core concept that he was trying to transfer but I think he could do it a lot more digestible for public.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great undestanding on how beliefs do control behavior and gene activity
Verified PurchaseThe book "The Biology of Belief" is one of the most important books that I read in my life, because I understood better how my body works at a cell level and the impact of the environment on cell behavior, since my birth and even my prenatal environment.
Although I cannot indeed control the environment altogether, I am able to steer my reactions or response to what happens in the environment and ultimately introduce new habits and mindset in order to be and remain healthy. In order words, I grasped the power of my identity upon the energy that drives my life.
Such awareness results from the book content clearly written with scientific arguments, facts, and data.
I thank the author very much for his contribution in sharing his knowledge and also expanding the original book for the 10th Anniversary Edition with additional and relevant information. Fantastic!

5.0 out of 5 stars Fascinating and enlightening
Verified PurchaseI was curious to read this book as I have a very strong interest in the impact of the mind on our health. We’ve all heard of the placebo effect and it seems there’s an increasing amount of information coming out in recent years about how the placebo effect effect works, or more accurately, the emerging, fascinating science of epigenetics.
The book lays out the story of how the prevailing theory of biology - the primacy of DNA - came about. The Central Dogma, as the author puts it. The author explains the history of various discoveries that led to this prevailing belief.
Lipton was a medical school professor and research scientist, and noticed in his lab work that the environment of the cell played a central role in the cell's development. This led ultimately to the discovery that it’s not DNA at all that controls our biology; rather, that factors external to the cell - the epigenetic - are what control the genes.
This gives us power to turn genes on or off, if we know how to harness the power correctly. We already know that foods can play a part in epigenetics. This book argues that energetic messages - such as those of our thoughts and beliefs - also play a part.
It’s well written, and accessible. As a professor at medical schools, and experienced presenter, Lipton has developed a way of explaining his theories in a way the layman can understand.
