Biofreeze is clearly the best cold pain reliever I have used. The cream works a bit longer but this spray is stronger and doesn't stick to clothing the same. Once dry, it appears to leave no stains. No question it's a strong smell, I apply it on the deck, but it's an easy tradeoff. I use it for a "frozen shoulder " and it works as well as an ice pack. Note: I initially paid nearly double the price from the physio clinic.
