I picked this up after I started treatment for ribs that had popped out of place. I had impacted nerves and regular pain medication (tylenol, advil) was not helping at all. I feel like the cooling sensation does a better job at distracting me than making the pain better but either way I did feel some relief while this is on.
The cooling sensation is fairly strong and lasts a decent amount of time. The smell is what you would expect for a menthol product like this and there is no weird chemical smells. If you sit back after applying, your shirt can stick to you a bit but if I am wearing loser clothing for the most part my shirt stays free of it. Any smell that gets on my clothes comes off easily in the wash. My husband is able to apply it to my back and then wash his hands before the cooling sets in for himself.
It was also cheaper on amazon than in some stores around me.
