First things first, as with any antenna, reception depends on how strong the signal(s) is in your area. Second, your placement with said antenna. My old 1995 Mercedes-Benz has an aftermarket radio, and the electric antenna died. I ordered this one, plugged it into the radio, an just hung it over the rear view mirror to check. Great reception. After "testing" it, I then routed the cable from the top windshield rear view area, down the A pillar, and under the dash to the radio. Very little to no change with the cable near metal structure or other electrical wiring. I placed it on the inside of the windshield behind the rear view mirror, with the provided dual adhesive tape. Definitely recommended. Easy to install rated 5 star by me only because I have experience with this type of installation.

I have a 2013 Honda Accord and I decided to replace the stock stereo. What a nightmare. Besides the insanely expensive Metra kit that's needed, you also need to run a 200" antenna extension cable to the TRUNK :\
Sooo yeah, if I wanted to use the factory antenna, I'd have to run that 200" extension cable from the new stereo, all the way into the trunk (there's a special little module back there by the passenger side quarter panel, and that's where I'd have to connect the antenna extension cable if I wanted to use the factory antenna).
Needless to say, I was not having that; especially just for AM/FM radio lol.
This antenna for $10 allowed me to run this wire around my A-pillar. I stuck it to the tippy top of the windshield (inside), right below the car's headliner on the driver's side. And while it's technically in my view while driving, it's not distracting. I suppose I could have just ran it the extra 3' and mounted it to the windshield over by the passenger side instead lol. Oh well.
I tested the radio and it picked up plenty of stations.
So while I may never need to use it, it's nice thing to have. And for $10 you can't go wrong.
