That said, having your phone mounted on your bike can be really handy at times, especially for GPS navigation.
The C-clamp on this holder has a big enough range to grip pretty much any handlebar. In fact, I use mine on my handlebar stem, which has a significantly wider diameter than my actual handlebars (see video). This keeps my phone mostly horizontal and clearly visible at a glance, without cluttering up my (already crowded) handlebars.
The C-clamp screws on and releases in seconds via a thumbscrew on the opposite side, making it quick and easy to take the phone mount with you when parking, or to install/uninstall the holder as needed (I don't always need to have my phone visible when riding).
The holder is a teensy bit fiddly when putting your phone in or taking it out. Once you've squeezed the sides together around your phone, you have to push down a clip on the underside AND fold the lock up around the side. This is a quibble—the process takes only a second or two and quickly becomes second nature (while also providing an extra level of security).
With its rubbery liner and its double-lock system, this thing holds your phone tightly. In my first half-hour ride on a bumpy gravel path, my phone remained safe and secure.
