How To Use Potassium Bicarbonate in Wine

  • 3.4 g of Potassium Bicarbonate reduces the acidity of 1 gal by 0.1 pH. One teaspoon of the powder is approximately 6 g. 2 oz bottle.

I ordered this for my aquarium, as a way to increase kH for my shrimps’ and snails’ shell development. During a water change, I dissolved the potassium bicarbonate in my new water at the same time I added my dechlorinator, before adding the water to the tank. Easy peasy. I used 1 tsp per 5 gals. Based on my water hardness tests before and after, it did exactly what I wanted it to. The change wasn’t too drastic, and can be repeated over multiple water changes to reach the target range. Will def recommend to my fish keeper friends, for whatever that’s worth! 🤓
