‘The right use of available resources is economics’. Tools are always limited. So be it any, mineral, water, manpower or time. Demands, however, are unlimited. In such a case, if we want to make the world happy, we have to strike a balance between means and demands. If such an economic vision is not developed, then waste of resources, inequality, injustice and consequent war are born. So then Tukaram Maharaj says, "Jodonia Dhan Uttam Vehvare, Udas Vicharen Vech Kari"
The idea of four purusharthas has been introduced in Indian culture. Dharma, Artha, Kama and Moksha. The concept of 'religion' has permeated Indian life. ‘Work’ is a natural motivation. ‘Salvation’ is considered to be the ultimate goal of life. But, even in ancient times, Acharya Chanakya saw that ‘meaning’ has been neglected. It is an everlasting truth that ‘the illusion of the world is false. ‘Artha’ has a unique relationship with the other three purusharthas. Without ‘meaning’, everything is ‘meaningless’, and then ‘meaningless’. Chanakya wrote the book 'Arthashastra' in support of this neglected masculinity. Today, once again, there is a need to examine life transactions with economics as the focal point. It is no coincidence that Dr. Ambedkar did research in economics.
The present book on Economics is mainly prepared for the competitive examination (MPSC / UPSC) students. There are still not enough quality books on 'Arthashastra' in Marathi. Although there are other books on the market, in some cases this book is right. Without going into two separate parts, the whole book is a detailed account of the whole subject.
In competitive exams the statistics and figures have to be accurate. It is a question of individual marks, so the emphasis is on accuracy. Most of the figures are taken from government reports. Avoiding the bombardment of statistics, only the necessary statistics have been given. Emphasis is placed on clarifying the concept, not just constructing a hierarchy of facts.
