I purchased this in April and it certainly is not stainless steel, and it does rust. The one I received was made of tin and the top that keeps the brush in place is now l/3 rust. I am putting it in the garbage and would advise anyone who might be going to buy this toilet cleaning brush to think twice before ordering. The bristles on the brush are good but the container is garbage after only 3 months.

The finish is nice and it has a plastic cup on the inside to catch the water coming off the brush. What I don't know is if it will start rusting in a few months.
