I purchased this 9 months ago in April of 2023. The past month the timer issues markedly increased and I had to contact them. So 2 weeks ago I sent them a email via their website with screenshots of my review and proof of purchase.
They immediately replied (oddly enough after midnight, lol) to apologize, asked for my mailing address and I received the package just days later. For full transparency, the new one is behaving the same way - once I’ve set it in the AM for the longest photo period, it works as expected for a few days then stops turning on at all.
Five stars to them for standing behind their product, but I have to strongly encourage the company to address the faulty timers. Perhaps clear out remaining stock and be transparent about the defect, source a new timing device and go from there. Even better, just go with an on/off switch so they can be put onto smart plugs etc.

I ignored most of the reviews (tbh as I do half the time) and ordered anyways despite everyone saying the timer is non functional.
It’s not functional, straight out of the box.

Sometimes it stays on 24/7 (which sucks, plants grow straight up at night and don’t reach for the light. Very important for my Hoya vines) but most of the time I turn it on and set the timer - it works for a few days then stops.

It works in such a way you must be present to set it at the time you want it to start, you can’t simply input the current time and it calculates the set period to work. Nor can you use an outlet timer.

I wish I could get my money back or have a new light sent to me to see if I manage to receive one that works reliably.

Well put together product! Light is very very bright! I sure hope it will help my English Ivys grow new leaves! After bringing the ivy in around the end of summer/beginning of fall, it's not getting nearly as much light as it once received outside. As a result, many of the leaves start to turn yellow and fall off. Although my windows face south, not enough light reach them for a long period of time. The grow lights do indeed give off a chemical like smell that fills the air when they first heat up. Thankfully, this only occurs once/twice during the initial power-up, and then only barely noticeable the second time the light is turned on. To give you an idea... it smells like some kind of fertilizer... Almost like horse or cow poop in a barn. As mentioned, it does go away after the first or second use... just a very odd gas/chemical like smell. I hope as intense as these lights are that they last a long long time.

I will update this review on the effectiveness of this grow light after a few weeks of use! :)

At first I was really happy with these because most of my medium and low-light plants were looking healthier with the extra light and the lights don’t get too hot. They are a bit under-powered for high-light plants though.

Sadly, they have timer issues. Of the nine I bought, three of the timers stopped functioning properly within a few months. Two kept staying on past the timer settings, but the buttons still responded. One failed completely and the timer and on/off button stopped responding. Now I regret getting so many of these and worry more will fail soon. The worst part is that I’m forced to buy more potentially faulty lights when they fail so they match. As soon as I find suitable replacement lights in 5,000K, I’ll likely replace all of them.

I can't say enough good things about this light. I liked it so much that I bought a second one for the office. I have a majesty palm under it with the setting on 14 hrs. The palm is thriving despite them having a difficult reputation. It's attractive and very bright! You could probably burn a sensitive plant if the light is too close. I love that it can be configured for different lengths of time. If the power goers out it does have to be reset, which means waiting until the next morning and remembering to turn it on and hit the schedule button again at like 7am so that it stays on until 9pm. I did NOT want to spend so much for a plant light, but just do it. It won't disappoint like some of the cheaper ones I've tried. I've had mine about 8 months and no issues.

I'm trying my hand at growing a Xanthosoma indoors for the first time and needed a supplemental light since it would not hang close enough to my Barrina strip lights. I love that this has a built-in timer! The timer times aren't standard (9 hrs, 14 hrs) but I have it set on 9 hrs and figure the remaining three hours can come from the nearby Barrina strip grow lights that I have set up on wireless plugs to turn off at the 12 hr mark.

The first light I got worked fine but the switch on the cord did not function properly. I did a return through �鶹�� and the replacement works just as it should. Before I did the �鶹�� return I reached out directly to Barrina. I didn't hear back from them so I did it through �鶹�� to get it sorted. Three weeks after I contacted Barrina, they emailed me back completely apologetic about the delay ~ their email system glitched and it lost a bunch of emails, mine included. The fact that they reached out to me despite it having been three weeks showed me they really do care about their customers!!!! Kudos to their customer service!

I love Barrina's products and have 30 feet of their grow lights in my home, and another 55 feet or so of their shop lights in my workshop. I will continue to use their products and recommend to all of my planty friends!
