About Us

Legacy Recordings is an American record label that is a division of Sony Music. Formed in 1990 after Sony's acquisition of CBS Records, Legacy originally handled the archives of Sony Music-owned labels Columbia Records and Epic Records. In 2004, under the Sony BMG joint venture, the label began to manage the archives of RCA Records, J Records, Windham Hill Records, Arista, LaFace, Jive, and Buddah Records. Legacy Recordings also distributes Philadelphia International Records and the catalog of recordings produced by Phil Spector. It is not related to the defunct British independent label Legacy Records.

    Love it, only complaint is the inner sleeve...it's great mind you, heavy gauge, nice pics and liner notes but for me, the original had the best inner sleeve of almost any album. It was a classic! I pulled the one from my original, added it to this and now it's perfect:) (Gave away the old one to my son...hoping to turn him on to something "new" to him)

    I was quite impressed by this record. It goes without saying, the songs are all fantastic. My favourite album of theirs. I was quite surprised by how good the recoding was though. I don't remember it being this good when I purchased the first run when it came out. Surface noise is very low. Very few clicks and pops and no rumble. All of the instruments are clear and nicely placed in the sound stage. It feels like the guys got all of the songs in one take with each of them staying put on their spot in the studio. The balance is great. You can hear everything nicely placed right down to the 3 distinct crash cymbals, snare, bass drum and two guitars and bass. Solid bass too which is essential for these songs.
