    The 1st time purchasing for a young guitarist. Wasn't aware that this product didn't include the power cord for itself. So I needed to purchase this separately. Heads up to any other newbies purchasing distortion peddles for their son. Add on the replacement power supply because mine didn't come with a power supply at all.

    If you need that Boss DS-1 sound (if you want to play most Nirvana songs, for example), you just need one of these. I hate the fact that many Boss pedals (including this one) turn on automatically when I power up my pedalboard, but nothing else sounds quite right. I tried several clones, but they just sound off, or they try to "fix" the circuit so it has more low end, or more tone knob range, or whatever, and in the process, destroy the authentic sound I'm looking for. So, this is the first and only Boss pedal that's staying on one of my pedalboards.
