- Reviewed in Canada on May 6, 2025Verified PurchaseI’m a daily outdoor walker with sensitive, acne-prone skin. I’ve been reapplying this lotion on long sunny walks (2–3 hours at a stretch) for the past three weeks according to label instructions. It absolutely delivers on sun protection, even on six-mile hikes in direct sun, I’ve had zero red spots or irritation. I follow the 2 mg/cm² rule and reapply every two hours; no burn, no peeling. The lotion dispenses smoothly from a sturdy pump, with no leaks. The texture feels lightweight initially, though you must really massage it in to minimize the white sheen. Comparable to other reef-safe SPFs in price. You pay a small premium for mineral ingredients, but I’d rather tolerate the white cast than risk chemical irritants.
👍 Pros:
- Very water-resistant—stays put through sweat and washing
- No chemical irritants—fragrance-free, paraben-free, hypoallergenic
- Broad spectrum SPF 50 blocks ~98% UVB
- Reef-safe mineral formula (no oxybenzone/octinoxate)
👎 Cons:
- Leaves a silver-white cast on skin
- Takes a moment to fully “rub in” if you want it truly invisible

- Reviewed in Canada on May 27, 2025Verified PurchaseI walk outdoors every single day and I have very sensitive, acne-prone skin. After using this sunscreen consistently for the past three weeks, I can confidently say it works incredibly well. Even during long hikes in direct sunlight, I haven’t had any redness, sunburn, or peeling.
The pump bottle is well-made and doesn’t leak, and the lotion comes out smoothly. It feels lightweight at first, but it does take some effort to really rub it in if you want to minimize the white cast. That’s honestly the only downside. Still, for a mineral sunscreen that’s fragrance-free and gentle on reactive skin, I think the slight white tint is a fair trade-off.
This formula stays put even through sweat and occasional rinsing. It’s also broad-spectrum SPF 50 and completely reef-safe, which is a must for me. The price is in line with other mineral sunscreens I’ve used, and I don’t mind paying a bit more to avoid chemical irritants.
Overall, this has become my go-to daily sunscreen for outdoor activities. If you have sensitive skin and don’t mind a little extra rubbing in, this is absolutely worth trying

- Reviewed in Canada on August 18, 2024Verified PurchaseFormulation:
The sunscreen boasts a mineral-based formula with zinc oxide as its active ingredient, which provides broad-spectrum protection against both UVA and UVB rays. Unlike chemical sunscreens, this one forms a physical barrier on the skin's surface, which is especially beneficial for those with sensitive or easily irritated skin. The lotion is free from fragrances, parabens, and other common irritants, making it a safe choice for those prone to allergies or skin reactions.
Performance:
The SPF 50+ rating ensures robust protection from the sun, even during extended periods outdoors. The sunscreen applies smoothly and evenly, although it does leave a slight white cast typical of mineral sunscreens. However, the cast fades relatively quickly once absorbed into the skin. The lotion is also water-resistant for up to 80 minutes, making it suitable for swimming or intense outdoor activities.
Smart Cap Technology:
One of the most unique features of this product is its Smart Cap Technology. The cap changes color when exposed to harmful UV rays, serving as a visual reminder to reapply sunscreen or take other protective measures. This feature is especially useful for parents applying sunscreen to children or for anyone who might forget to reapply during prolonged sun exposure.
Skin Feel:
The lotion has a lightweight, non-greasy feel, which is impressive for a mineral sunscreen. It does not clog pores or feel heavy on the skin, which is a major plus for those with acne-prone or oily skin. Despite its high SPF, it’s comfortable enough for daily wear under makeup or alone.
Pros:
- Effective SPF 50+ protection.
- Mineral-based, suitable for sensitive skin.
- Free from fragrances, parabens, and other irritants.
- Water-resistant for up to 80 minutes.
- Smart Cap Technology for UV exposure awareness.
- Lightweight, non-greasy formula.
Cons:
- Slight white cast upon application (common with mineral sunscreens).
- Small tube size (89 ml), which may require frequent repurchases for daily use.

- Reviewed in Canada on April 17, 2025Verified PurchaseI tested this sunscreen on two separate sunny vacations, while my husband and others in our group used various other brands. On the first day, I applied it to just one leg to see how it held up—and sure enough, the protected leg had no burn and only minimal color. The unprotected leg, however… not so lucky. (Apparently, I overcommitted to the experiment—oops! Thankfully I was able to balance it out over the rest of the week.)
What really stood out was how little product I needed compared to my husband, who was using Banana Boat Sport. I used at least half the amount per application, and applied it about half as often. (If you can clearly see a white coat, you’re using way too much.) There’s a super sheer, almost invisible white film left when applied properly—but it was so faint that no one even noticed it until I pointed it out up close.
It also lasted way longer in both pools and saltwater. While everyone else was reapplying constantly, I just checked that sheer coat up close and saw it was still doing its job—and I didn’t burn.
By the end of the trip, even my reluctant teen ended up using this on their face, because the regular sunscreen just couldn’t handle constant face-wiping in the pool. This one performed much better. We still reapplied a few times a day, but not nearly as often as we did with other sunscreens.
