Product description
Simplicity offers the same validated, clinical accuracy as other BIOS models, but in our most basic and easy-to-use operating platform. This unit uses oscillometric technology to measure arterial blood pressure and pulse rate. The cuff is wrapped around the arm and automatically inflated by the air pump. The device senses weak fluctuations of the pressure in the cuff produced by extension and contraction of the artery within the arm in response to each heartbeat. The amplitude of the pressure waves is measured, converted in millimeters of the mercury column, and is shown on the display. This blood pressure monitor is intended to measure the systolic/diastolic pressure, and pulse rate of an adult individual by using a non-invasive oscillometric technology. This device is designed to be portable, and used in both home and professional environments for every day blood pressure monitoring. When rested, and measuring your blood pressure at home, measurements with diastolic pressure readings above 85 mmHg or systolic readings over 135 mmHg are considered high. If you obtain consistent readings in this range, consult your doctor immediately. High blood pressure values over time can damage blood vessels, vital organs such as the kidney, and your heart. With blood pressure values that are too low (i.e., systolic values under 105 mmHg or diastolic values under 60 mmHg), consult with your doctor.
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on 鶹. It also analyzes reviews to verify trustworthiness.
I bought this product in June 2024. It started acting up in January 2025 but that's not my only problem with it.
1. When you change the batteries, the memory of the date and time goes away. I can only tell which number is the one I just took if I am super fast to write it down before the machine turns off. Right now it thinks it's May 12th last year.
2. The memory button keeps sticking, and then it just keeps going back all by itself and I can't select the right reading. Then when I finally am able to I select it and get the reading, afterwards I hit the memory button and the reading immediately before just floats by on another roll.
3. I have very large arms due to chronic illness. My arms are also short, so it is impossible to get it 3 cm above the elbow. The cuff barely fits me. I tried buying a bigger one but the only one this manufacturer has is unavailable. I bought the wrong one by mistake since it was the only one on 鶹 and later found that the shop website has it listed and marked unavailable.
This was to replace another faulty machine that had died (different company). I need this thing to work. It is Health Canada approved and yet here we are just a few months post-purchase and now what??
FYI I have never dropped this machine or done anything to damage it.
