I only had one HDMI out on my video card. There was also display port but the portable monitor I wanted to add only had an HDMI input. This adaptor came to my rescue! I used to to adapt the display port output and give myself a second HDMI out for my portable monitor. This solved my problem quickly and easily. They seem very solid and well made and should last for many years. Anyone who works with computers on a regular basis would do well to have a couple of these in their toolkit. Very happy with these adapters.

Unfortunately my monitors I hooked up using this only got to 1080p so I can't testify for high speeds no lag etc... I can say that these do work. I'm not sure if it was the dock had newish connectors, or these have a small tolerance, but it did take a little wiggle to get them to click in. I only have one monitor with a DP connector and unfortunately my spouse is using it so I wasn't able to test use these that way.
These are handy as it's very easy and cheap to get HDMI cables these days, while DP cables are a little harder to come by... well... I can order them on amazon. I just have dozens of HDMI cable kicking around in a box from TV boxes and things I've bought the past few years... may as well use them first.

I grabbed this BENFEI DisplayPort to HDMI adapter pack because I needed a quick way to connect my PC to my TV, and honestly, it worked perfectly right out of the box. I��ve had bad luck with cheap adapters before �� either the screen flickers, there��s no sound, or it stops working after a week. But this one was plug-and-play perfection. I plugged it into my GPU��s DisplayPort, connected the HDMI cable to my monitor, and the image popped up instantly in crisp 4K.

The build quality really stood out to me. It has a sturdy aluminum shell and tight-fitting connectors that don��t wiggle or feel cheap. You can tell it��s made to last. I��ve been using it for work during the day and streaming shows at night, and there��s been zero lag, signal drop, or distortion. My Kensington laptop dock provides only 2 DisplayPort connectors for video output, so I thought I'd try these adapters to see if I could use HDMI cables to my monitor instead of DP cables.

The adapters are very solidly made, with the blue-ish aluminum shell common to Benfei dongles and adapters.
The adapters are clearly marked to indicate that video signals flow only from DP to HDMI, and not the reverse.

I unplugged the DP cable that had been connecting my dock to one monitor, plugged the first adapter into my dock, and then connected the monitor using an HDMI cable, and ... nothing. My Dell Pro 14 Plus laptop (running Windows 11) didn't detect the monitor at all.
I swapped dongles. I swapped HDMI cables. I tried both DP ports on the dock. In no combination did my laptop detect the monitor. When I unplugged the adapters and restored the connection to the monitor using my DP cable, the laptop immediately detected it, and displayed a picture. This was disappointing.

I then tried plugging one of the adapters into the DisplayPort output of a nearby Proxmox server. That did produce a display, although the server was outputting text at FHD resolution, so I couldn't test the UHD capability of the adapters.

Pros:

- Plug and play setup, I just clicked it into the port on my graphics card, added an HDMI cable, and the monitor came to life right away with no fiddling in settings.

- Video looks clean and stable, no random flickers, dropouts, or weird colour shifts even when running a couple of screens for hours at a time for work and streaming.

- The metal housing feels solid and the connectors fit snugly, so you don��t get that loose, wobbly feeling you sometimes get with cheap plastic adapters.

Cons:

- Unidirectional only, so it works from DisplayPort source to HDMI display; if you plug it in backwards (HDMI source to DP screen) nothing will show and it might confuse you at first.
