Good size trays, useful tools included.

Good size trays, useful tools included.
I have always used regular plastic seed starter trays, which have worked well for the most part, although I’ve had a few failures with transplanting. I’ve heard a lot of good things about peat seed starter trays because they can be planted directly in the ground, reducing transplant shock. The peat will decompose naturally into the soil and allow for the roots to grow. I have a friend that has used peat seed trays before, and she said it’s a good idea to try to remove the bottom of the cell (carefully) prior to transplanting, to allow the roots to spread out quickly and easily. These particular peat seed starter trays seem to be of very good quality. They are sturdy, well-formed, and the right size for starting seedlings. They come with a couple of tools, including a little shovel that fits perfectly inside a cell. There is also a little tool for making a hole in the soil to place the seed, which is actually very useful. I have used it for sowing seeds in grow bags and it works extremely well. This set also comes with 20 plastic plant labels, which is handy since you can’t write on the trays. 🔎 I took a picture of one of these trays beside one of my plastic seed starter trays for size comparison. It’s almost time to plant more vegetables for a fall crop, so I will be using some of these seed starter trays for lettuce, kale, spinach, etc. I believe that they’ll work well, but if I encounter any issues, I will come back and update my review. Overall, I am very pleased with the quality of these trays and think they’re a good value for the amount you get. Thanks for reading! I hope this was helpful. 😊
