Those little radio are beast.
Those radio are ham radio. Those are "illegal" to use outside ham radio frequencies and you need a liscense BUT.... Who will know if you use it as a gmrs or frs. Just don't play on used frequencies.
YOU NEED TO JAILBREAK YOUR RADIO TO USE IT FOR GMRS/FRS and this is very simple. Turn off the radio then press all togheter monitor button, the ptt and the VFO button and turn on the radio, it will show FACTORY on the screen. That it it's unlock and you can use all vhf and uhf frequencies range.
Use the software CHIRP to program the radio. Very user friendly and free to use. Alot of good youtube video on it.
If you begain in ham radio and want to have good cheap radio option this is it. If you need a radio for personal use like frs or gmrs radio just know that is "illegal" but you not gonna go in jail or even get caught jjust be smart and don't piss off amateur radio operator.
