Does Roadie 3 work on instruments besides the guitar?

Absolutely! Roadie is compatible with ukuleles, banjos, mandolins and any instrument with guitar machine heads fitted with strings of gauge up to 75. Other instruments that can be tuned with Roadie 3 include lap steel guitars, pedal steel guitars, dobro square neck, and dobro round neck. Check Roadie Bass for tuning bass guitars or other instruments with a string gauge up to 140.

What is the difference between Roadie 3 and other Roadies?

I am impressed by this little device, in every way.
- Using it is so easy and quick, and tuning with the Roadie 3 is so satisfying (I love the beep and haptic feedback)!!

- It came came partially charged, so I able to start tuning within seconds. Each string takes about 5-7 seconds.

- It also comes with an intuitive color LED screen to navigate the menu and different tools and settings

I have the Roadie 3, purchased just over a month ago.

The unit uses a built in rechargeable battery. The unit charges quickly with usb-c cord (included), and should last dozens of tunings and such.The battery is non- serviceable by the owner.

The unit is a tuner, metronome and string winder/unwinder. This unit tunes a-lot of different stringed instruments, and you have an assortment of different chord tunings. Open G, Open D.

Uses a ios/ android app to update firmware. It does not provide updates through your computer, only through phone app. And the app provides more functionality to the Roadie 3, so if your a non- mobile phone user- there is no way to update the unit, or access the added features of the app.

Its compact, easy to read screen and pretty straightforward to use.

The only issue I am concerned about is the non-serviceable internal battery. No mention by the company in regards to future replacement - is the unit a throw away when the battery is no longer useful??? Batteries don't last forever.

Secondly, would be the motor that provides the torque to tune the strings. Its a small package, I can’t see the motor lasting that long. Fingers crossed

The unit comes with a 1 year warranty. You can buy an extended warranty on the companies website.

I cannot recommend this product enough. First of all, this tuner has an unbeatable cool factor and it is sure to become a conversation starter at any gathering. But more importantly, I tuned my Taylor acoustic and my friend's classical guitar in under a minute each and the accuracy is second to none. There is a different preset for both acoustic and classical guitar (among tons of other instruments), which I thought was great.
The huge library of alternate tunings is amazing, and so much fun to explore. I got lost for hours trying out tunings I never knew existed. As an added little surprise, there is a built-in metronome that works flawlessly.

I recommend downloading the companion app, where you can save instrument profiles, all the way down to brand name. The whole thing was super easy to set up and the build quality of the Roadie is high. This is also a HIGHLY giftable product, not just to beginners but to seasoned performers as well. Love it!

I was skeptical before buying this but it works really well! I find myself WANTING to tune my guitar because it's so easy. I also love how easy it is to store and swap between alternate tunings. Before buying this I would rarely if ever use alternate tunings because they are such a pain to switch between. I find the Roadie helps me be more creative by making those tunings much more accessible to me. I would definitely consider this a "treat yourself" item, but hey, you deserve it. Right? :)

Wenn man sich ans Handling gewöhnt hat tut es was es soll und das wirklich gut. Bei lauten Umgebungen, wo die Ohren nicht mehr reichen, eine echte Hilfe. Sehr gut die große Anzahl von verschiedenen Stimmungen. Mann kann seine Instrumente mit Namen abspeichern und hat immer ganz fix die Stimmung welche für das Teil relevant ist. Wem das nicht reicht, man kann für das jeweilige Instrument auch selbst Stimmungen erstellen und zuordnen. Beim 12 Saiter tut er sich manchmal bei der tiefen E-Saite und der Oktav E-Saite etwas schwer. Ukulele hat problemlos funktioniert . Selbst die Irish Bouzouki schafft er problemlos, vorrausgesetzt man hat die Stimmung für die Saiten manuell korrekt eingestellt. Tja, Banjo kann ich nicht beurteilen, weil die etwas größeren Wirbel leider nicht in die Aufnahme passen. Der Preis von 139€ mag etwas hoch erscheinen, dafür bekommt man aber auch einiges geboten. Vielleicht nichts was man zwingend benötigt, aber etwas , was man haben will.^^ Ich hab den Kauf nicht bereut und habe Spaß dran.

Werkt heel erg goed! Ik gebruik het om mijn ukeleles te stemmen. Batterij gaat heel lang mee. Zou 5 sterren krijgen moest het ook alle vormen van ukelele ondersteunen. Nu is het enkel mogelijk voor gewone of met lage G maar 5- of 8-snarige gaat nog niet. 12-snarige gitaar gaat dan weer wel tot grote vreugde van mijn vriend 😉. Geen spijt van mijn aankoop!
