The Fourth Mind
Audible Audiobook
– Unabridged
鶹
The Fourth Mind is the first book ever to explore the anatomy, brains, genetics, beliefs and capabilities of the unknown entities the author refers to as "the visitors." He maintains that they have a set of abilities he describes as a "fourth mind" that include such powers as telepathy, levitation, the ability to move heavy objects without machinery, and many others.
He then shows that there is a rich store of evidence that mankind once possessed these same powers, and that hidden knowledge of them has persisted into the 20th century.
To explore why we lost them and how we can regain them, he takes a dive into the chaotic end of the last ice age when mass extinctions devastated the planet and mankind endured a catastrophe so terrible that it has buried by traumatic amnesia. He shows how it resulted in our loss of these powers, and describes how a forgotten event involving our visitors that took place in 1996 in Brazil holds the key to our recovery of them.
There has never been another book like The Fourth Mind. It marks the beginning of a new way of thinking about who and what we are, and points toward the re-empowerment of mankind as a truly cosmic species.

- Reviewed in Canada on June 27, 2025Verified PurchaseI love Whitley Streiber's work! I have a lot of his books and am just reading, "Them". In this one, Mr. Streiber talks about why humans can't do what the Aliens do; that is telepathy and levitation etc. A lot of our history covered as to why this is. Very good! I would recommend this book.
- Reviewed in Canada on January 20, 2025Verified PurchaseWith recent Congressional Hearings, Whistle Blower witness statements and an estimated 400,000 – 500,000 UFO/UAP reports since the 1940’s, there can no longer be any doubt of the existence of anomalous aerial craft that behave in ways that are unexplainable by Physics.
But what type of intelligences designed and operate the craft? Whitley Strieber, who gave us the image of the “alien face” in his ground-breaking book Communion (1987), now significantly advances his intimate understanding, and explores not only who these intelligences are, from first-hand experience and other documented sources, but what they look like, both externally and internally. Also discussed are their possible objectives, as well as the unusual supernormal abilities that these intelligences (called “Visitors”) possess, such as levitation and telepathy.
But are these abilities restricted to the Visitors? There have been documented reports of people demonstrating these abilities to witnesses throughout history. The author argues that these abilities were far more common in the distant past, and that we may have forgotten how to employ them as a result of world-wide cataclysmic events in the past that significantly disrupted and changed human society, creating a type of global amnesia.
Since the Visitors show that these abilities are not only possible, but that they can be used when they interact with “abductees” (i.e. persons they specifically interact with), the author suggests that we not only can regain these abilities, but that it urgently becomes necessary to do so, as we begin to interact more commonly and closely with the Visitors during a period of increased disclosure and contact.
This is another ground-breaking book that greatly advances our understanding of the Visitors and of our increasing interaction with them, by an author who has had ongoing first-hand interaction with them for about 40 years.
- Reviewed in Canada on February 9, 2025Verified PurchaseAmazing individual-the good old days I would enjoy so much the times Art bell had Whitley on such awesome memories of magical talk-he has provided a most memorable array of honest heart felt narratives of somebody there-my favourite book was the key-but wow all are so incredible 👏🙏
- Reviewed in Canada on January 24, 2025Verified PurchaseWhitley combines his own extensive experience with these beings with a number of other accounts to come up with a fascinating view on their biological and mental functioning. He furthermore compares this to latent power in humanity demonstrated with training, finding considerable overlap and several potential reasons for their extensive interaction with our species.

5.0 out of 5 stars Content amazing. Binding awful.
Verified PurchaseThe content is probably the most important in the public domain since 'Communion'. Enough said. Except that as far as I'm concerned, this new 'summng up' sheds more light on the 'alien' enigma than anything I have ever read in the past... and that amounts to a lot of books, very many thousands of words, and this book has information that none of those contained. The content (some, not all, of it) deserves 5 stars and more. I agree with another reviewer who found the first part more interesting than the second. This latter concerns re-activating the powers humanity lost after a cataclysm 12000 years ago... some interesting conjectures are offered that are quite reasonable, but from what might be deduced from the present ignorance and stupidity displayed by humanity these hoped-for results will be a very long time coming ...if at all. The most interesting opinion he offers, at least to me, concerns a theory that the 'visitors' are NOT necessarily the same as 'the old Gods' but might well be relatively new to the study of humanity, and he gives a few interesting pointers as to why this may be so. As I have continued to read, more and more pages have fallen out.... I hope this book reaches the widest possible readership. FOOTNOTE. after refund I re-purchased. New copy is fine.

1.0 out of 5 stars No esperaba nada y aún así logró decepcionarme
Verified PurchasePerhaps I'll save you a few bucks by giving you what I consider to be the only more or less valuable quote in this entire book filled with speculation, child victimization, and beating around the bush: "This means, of course, that one of the first things we need to do is to stop assuming that we are less than what we are" ... "What we lost was our confidence, and that is what me must regain."

5.0 out of 5 stars A wonderful insight to the possible purpose of the visitors.
Verified PurchaseI enjoyed this book. Whitley’s a wonderful writer who does a great job of pulling me into his thoughts about the space brothers. The book may feel short in length ( which is a plus) but only because the writing is so well done. I’m glad he mentioned the author G. I. Gurdjeiff for it lets me know that I am on the right path.
