Honestly, if your local parts store has a loan-a-tool program, that's your best bet. Although this EVENTUALLY got the job done, it wasn't without allot of frustration and cursing lol. First off, that white metal threaded push off, snapped with very little force (using 1/4" ratchet); I'm glad I chose to practice on the old pump and not the new unit. The instructions are vague and I had to watch a YouTube video to figure out why it wasn't coming off, using 13/16" boxed wrench; but the instructions called for a 1"????? 🙄 Turns out the instructions were completely wrong???? I had to borrow a set from the store, because I required that stud that broke. So all in all, save your money or purchase a better set, if you expect to use it continuously. I will be returning this product. First bad experience from this brand-name...

Others have said the threads are poor....I had no problem with the threads that were oiled before use, but problems everywhere else.
The collar kept slipping off the pulley nose piece and each time it came off it damaged the part. It had rounded off the front of the pulley before it finally came off and the repeated slips caused so much damage that that the pulley will have to be cut off if the new pump ever fails..
The install bolt that fitted best broke in two when the pulley had made it only partly onto the shaft

t said it was meant for Ford, but that is not at all true as the thing was much too loose and that is what caused the damage.

The next bolt was too long so I had to use heavy washers to take up the extra space.
It did finally work but this tool kit was a very frustrating thing to work with.

NOT recommended.

Excellent, wonderful tool. I was replacing the power steering on my 86 chev. A frame p/s unit, pain in the neck to replace. The p/s pulley is attached by pressure, not a screw - and there are bolts for the bracket mount behind the pulley. The pulley must come off - and then go back on. This tool worked perfectly! I was puzzled by the directiions, but then I let the engineering speak to me, and off came the pulley. The pulley was 350k miles old. I used a little penetrating oil, let it rest overnight - and off it came. Takes muscle. Do it slow. I used a couple of big wrenches. Then I used another part of the tool to put it back on. You pull it off and you screw-grab it back on. The center spinle of the p/s is hollow and has screw threads which the grabbers take, and pull the pulley forward onto the shaft. Amazing!!! Took me 25 minutes to figure out the tool and take the pulley off. I could now do it in 5 minutes. Took me 7 minutes to put the pulley back on. Requires muscle and slow movement, little at a time.

Not worth the price. Used it to remove a water pump pulley that worked but try reinstalling the pulley & the bolts that came with it are so soft they strip the threads, could only press the pulley half way on & that’s as far I could go with it, a waste of money better off buying a decent set. as this one only does half a job.
